£850,000 plus add ons which could take it to £1m according to RL

Not bad really, more than we paid, good deal for all involved. 'cept we are now short of a defender where we were already short on defenders!

Would've liked to see him get a chance in Sven's team.. tho hasn't looked consistent since D1.

Wasn't he named Player of the Season in Pearson's Championship season?

Shame to see Hobbs go, but I think it was inevitable. Good player that will go on to have a decent career in the Prem I'm sure... but just doesn't fit in with Sven's style. Hobbs will excel again under Pearson though.

I am in equal parts pleased and saddened at this deal.
On one hand, it's money in the coffers and a club for young Jack to be happy at
On the other, we're a few defenders shy of a full unit and I do believe he'll go on to be an excellent professional.

I do wish him well and, all barring two games, do hope he proves to be quite the center back next year.

Mercury saying it's a done deal ...

Jack Hobbs was set to complete his switch from Leicester City to Hull City last night.

The 22-year-old was undergoing a medical in Hull yesterday and was expected to finalise personal terms before being unveiled as Nigel Pearson's latest signing today.

Hobbs made an instant impact at Leicester following his arrival from Liverpool three years ago, initially on a one-year loan.

He was named in the PFA Team of the Year as he helped Pearson's City clinch the League One title and was the club's player of the year at the end of their first campaign back in the Championship.

However, he struggled last season after Pearson's departure to Hull and, when he was unable to establish himself under new boss Sven-Goran Eriksson, he joined Hull on loan in February.

The fee the Tigers have agreed with City will be undisclosed but reports suggest it is £800,000.
