Managed 570 games - picked up 818 points total.

Average points per game 1.44

Over 46 games = 66 points average per season.

At least its somewhere nearer the play-offs.

I'm not suggesting he's great or rubbish, somewhere in between IMO but its as good an appointment as we are going to get with our current team, prospects and our current chairman.

as someone who has been to many qpr matches while holloway was in charge and has 3 friends all of whom are lifelong supporters of qpr, i can say that by the vast majority of fans he was liked in a way martin oneil was liked here at leicester, the same goes for the feelings down in plymouth now.
we used to do the qpr v leicester home and away games qpr v leeds home and away and proberbly 2 or 3 more each season, while holloway was there and not once did i see any large amount of resentment toward him from the crowd, neither did the qpr fans that i know have a bad word for him, they were sad to see him go.
the same can be said for the plymouth fans down here in devon, although there is alot of resentment at the min about the way he left, during his time managing plymouth he was loved by the fans and gave them there most successfull period in the championship, he spent wisely with the money he was given which by plymouth standards was a large amount, and has given them there highest league finish last season and taken them on from there to the edge of the playoffs this year.
so basically i dont believe any of that crap jeff has put down its just quotes from chairmen covering there backs and passing the blame.
if you look at the hard facts and get them from the people that really matter i.e the fans then the bloke hasnt done much wrong.

There is no point Dunc, all they want to do is moan about whoever the manager is. They dont want Holloway but fail to give a name of somebody we could actually get.

Still wont please some people

It's also better than re-appointing Rob Kelly, or giving the job to Paul Daniels and Debbie Magee

That doesn't make it good, though.....

Doesn't make it a bad appointment either.

I'm amazed he's managed 570 competitive games at such a young age.

For a young(ish) manager he's got some real experience.

Would you like me to quote some QPR fans who wanted Holloway out too?

He was getting loads of criticism from QPR fans when we won at their place in January last year.

So was Alex Ferguson and so was Jose Mourinho when they were going through bad patches.

I doubt you would find any manager who has had a career of more than a couple of seasons without some people criticising him.

At Leicester, I doubt you'd find any manager ever including Garry Parker and Allan Evans who managed for 1 game!

True enough - though only time will tell

At least he plays 4-4-2, and likes to attack - both of which will be a significant positive change to what we have recently been witness to. Sadly I suspect he is simply not good enough to ever be managing a Premiership team or one that looks like it might get close to being one

Although apparently we are supposed to accept his appointment as being a modern day miracle without actually expressing what you think about the man :icon_roll

that wouldnt be hard jeff, as im sure it wouldnt be hard to find man utd fans who think fergueson should have gone years ago, and mohrinio did nothing for chelsea.

Horse hockey. When a name is suggested all we get is that is unrealistic. So is Holloway IMO. :icon_sad:

Spot on Willlow, in much the same way that 99% of the forum was moaning about Megson. They too were unable to suggest a replacement.

Small (or selective) fecking memories or what?

And if we had appointed Paul Jewell no doubt one could find slatings from Sheff Weds fans....
