Yes - even when we got back to 2-2. We just sat back and let them come at us and play their short defence splitting balls. 84,000 people were yelling, "Get closer". It was so ****ing obvious that we were going to let them back in.

And remember - this was a Croatia team that didn't even need to win the match!!

OK, it was a disgraceful error, but he showed later on that he can play at the top level. Hopefully he will learn from that - it's not as if we have that many top class English goalies.

Unfortunately as a goalie you cant make an error, it doesnt matter how well you play afterwards. IMO Robinson shouldnt have been dropped, Ok he palmed out a shot for Russia to score but to bring in such a young keeper in the biggest game since the World Cup was a big decision.

Maybe so.. But if he'd picked Robinson and he'd had a nightmare.. you'd have been saying he should have stuck with Carson

The goalkeeper can't be blamed for non-qualification, it's the performances for the whole campaign that are to blame from a team without organaisation or motivation.

I am not blaming the goalkeeper, just stating it wasnt a game to give a young player his competitive debut.

I agree we have been poor for the whole campaign but it all came down to last night. The players on the pitch knew that they had to get a result and apart from Crouch, J Cole and Beckham they all looked like they couldnt be arsed.

Gerrard should be ashamed by his 'Captains' performance and the defence was an utter shambles.

It's a bit sad that Beckham will end his England career on 99 caps.

Mind you, that would probably have been the case even if we had qualified.
