I'd be very, very surprised if they accepted a bid of £1.5 million for him, but if we can get him in on the cheap then that'd be fantastic. A good young player with a bright future in the game by the looks of things, just the kind of player I was hoping Pearson would go for.

Sounds good to me, sorting out the defence has to be a top priority this summer. I think Mills' departure is inevitable but quite what we'll recoup for him remains to be seen. I'd happily offload Bamba as well if it meant Chester coming in.

Since then it's been further updated and then reverted back. When I looked a minute or two ago, it said that Barmby had resigned but now it's back to the Pearson sacked/?Barmby suspended article.

I don't think their finances are too healthy and Barmby has been suspended for discussing the finances and the owner's ambitions, so perhaps they could be selling a few players in the summer.

Didn't they reject a few bids for Stewart from us in Jan though? I can't imagine we offered peanuts for him. I wouldn't have thought their financial position has changed so much that they'll now accept low bids for their best players? Perhaps they were banking on being promoted this season...?
