I fail to see how both offences carry the same punishment. Surely Fellaini should have a 6 match ban for having two swipes at Huth.

The FA are in a difficult position as both are clearly acts of violent conduct despite being very different in severity and potential harm. Under their laws 3 match bans are given for violent conduct, which makes the decision correct as they have to to treat them individually. There is no other option here.

Their rules create their own problems and similar punishments need to be handed out for a minimum of Lamela and Dembele, probably Walker too. They have scope to increase the bans, they should do so with Dembele and they MUST make a statement with the length of his ban.

But the violent conduct umbrella the FA has, has caused two different incidents of varying severity (Huth, Fellaini) to be treated the same and it has harmed us here. In my opinion, it should be a one game ban for Huth, but rules are rules.

Even more of a joke when you consider what Walker, Lamela, Dier & Poch have gotten away with.
