Hopefully we'll raise our game and show the Aussies we mean business for the Ashes.

I can't see it. We are 9th in the World Rankings for a reason - we can't play the game. I think we're weaker than we were when we beat them in the last Champions Trophy.

Hope I'm wrong, obviously.

Eng 110-3 after 26 overs. After good start lost a few quick wickets. Strauss still there on fifty odd. Need to get to 250 i think to challenge Aus

169 all out. useless feckers. we were 83-0 at 1 stage.....

England thrashed by 6wkts and with the Aussies having 13 overs to spare.

Harmison 4.5 overs ..........0 for 45:icon_conf

To be fair we all know we are crap at ODI so lets not get too upset!

Crap yes. but meek surrender game after game is not acceptable. Its about time they were given the Fergie hairdryer

Completely agree. The fact that they haven't learnt from any of their mistakes of that past year is unforgiveable for professional sportsmen.

Harmison and Mahmood - knew that they weren't bowling a decent line all year
The batsmen - knew that it was important to keep wickets in hand at the start of the innings. Also that they HAD to convert 50s to 70s, 80s, 100s.
Pietersen - knew that he had to learn to build an innings
The selectors - carried on messing around with the team and the order (Flintoff said something along the lines of his batting at 3 being a permanent thing from now on then they moved KP up the order!). In that sense it has been the same story for every World Cup since 1992.

Also I still find it incredible that Lewis was head and shoulders above every other England bowler during the summer and wasn't an automatic pick. And to be honest I didn't really support his inclusion before the one-dayers after his performance in his only Test.
