Just a theoretical question, but it wasnt me who brought the Pompey situation up. Anyeya my mate had a go at me today, because i said id stop supporting Leicester if they were bought by such an owner, because i despise what these types are doing to football.

So basically, do you think that im being "disloyal" to say that, as they did, or do you think actually caring about what people like this are doing to smaller or more moderate sized clubs like we are now (though wouldnt be if a shitload of money was pumped in) is caring more about similar fans.

I think you are, you should support your club whatever, even if we went down to the Dr. Martins. :icon_lol::icon_lol:

Oh, i would support them if they were in the Dr Martins, absolutely, but my point is. Its because of all the money being bought into the game that teams like Leicester, Southampton, Norwich or similar sized or smaller clubs are going bankrupt and into administration.

Also, i want to watch a competitive sport decided on management and club structure built by continued success, not who can afford to buy the best players.

I gew up supporting Worcester City and I can tell you that supporting a club with money is better than supporting a club without. Having supported Leicester since moving here in 1969 I will continue supporting them whatever.
However, I would find it difficult to go to matches if they signed certain players who I consider yobs. I could not cheer a Joey Barton or Lee Bowyer. In the unlikely event of Dennis Wise staying at Leicester after the Calum Davidson incident I would have felt uncomfortable cheering him.

Obviously I wouldn't start supporting another team but I could see my interest fade slightly. Then again money often means success and I've always been a bit of a glory hunter.

which could easily happen if a multi billionare got bored with his plaything & nobody could afford to pick up the wreckage left behind

Dr. Martins........ :icon_lol:

If it happened to a club in our position I wouldn't be too fussed - look at QPR, they're one of the richest clubs in the country, but they're hardly pulling up trees in the Championship. At this level I think it would provide us with the resources to (hopefully) get promoted from the Champ and then survive in the Prem.

At the end of the day, when Mandaric took over we were salivating at the prospect of a 'wealthy' owner - are we any better off now? At the end of the day it all depends on the management and the time they're given. After all, Mad Dog was Milan's first choice...

Why do you 'despise' them?

We're already the play thing of a rich foreign businessman with no affiliation or interest in Leicester.

What's the difference?

At least if Mandy was wealthy enough to bankroll the club instead of simply overseeing constantly accumulating debt, I'd be a lot more confident about our financial stability.

Are you uncomfortable about our debt? You should have mentioned it before...

you cheered him at least once when he was here?:icon_eek:

I can honestly say I never cheered or clapped the wassock at all. In fact, I remember a game at West Ham just after Christmas(kids for a £1, so I got one of those tickets despite being 25/26!) and at the end of yet another pitiful display he came over at the emd and was waving him arms about as if to get the fans going.....I shouted a few things at him which he definitely heard. Feckwit.

Can you guess I don't like the bloke? lol

I went up to Bolton one Xmas for a game, a 10,000 mile or so round trip mind you.

Bolton went down to 9 men after about half an hour. I remember Wise's performance being so amazingly sh*t. He'd decided to just piss about in the middle of the pitch making 5 yard passes, not put a single tackle in, hit the worst set pieces and generally just be useless. He was captain too.

We conceded two late goals and drew 2-2. Wise was wholly responsible...I always hated the toxic little midget after that.

Did you read the reports on the last set of accounts?

Debt went up £7m+, racked up faster than the previous owners in 12 months and the result was relegation

When Peter Taylor bought Wise I thought it was a good signing. I was proved badly wrong.
I always cheer the players when they are read out including Cort who I thought was terrible and De Vries who I thought was cowardly.

We do get some utter bollox threads over the course of the summer months.

Personally we should worry about what we would do if Pearson had a sex change? Would you continue to support the club? Would you like it or would you be disloyal and support a team who didnt have 'a Haylee' as manager?

Thats a real dilemma, I'm gonna have to do some serious thinking about it...

Nigela, surely?

Roy Cropper's love for the club would certainly grow.

It's the only way we'd get near some proper honours but that's not what's been a football fan is all about. I am growing tired of Football's greediness and I applaud the likes of FC United's who are setting up community clubs within non-league and have such excellent schemes as their current season ticket 'pay as much as you can afford' campaign.
