Thing is, Matty Fryatt has shown a player can be effective despite not knowing the offside rule. Elvis - sorry, DJ - is just a sprinter.
Thats what i call imminent, within 2 days not in 2 weeks.

He was brought in as first choice striker by Martin Allen who did not rate Matty Fryatt. Gary Megson and Ian Holloway realised that for all DJs pace Matty was a better player. This was clearly the view of Nigel Pearson as well. Obviously this would make him fed up.
If he played better for Blackpool than for us in the relegation season this was perhaps because the Blackpool wingers and midfield were better than players like Hayes and Kishishev.
DJ could argue that he was not given a real chance when we were creating chances last season but no one could argue in favour of dropping Matty Fryatt.

I agree with your general point but I think these two players played about 5 matches between them in midfield (I think Kisishev played a few at the back)

I still think hes crap and I'd like to see us let him go. I think hes got the mardies because the fans don't like him but what are they gonna do if he's crap week in week out? Cheer his name? Rather than fight to prove his doubters wrong he just started whining like a little baby. I hope he ****s off to a team that eventually gets relegated this year....

Apparently he started pre season training a week early, dont know if thats trying to prove a point to us or get fit for his new club.

The point about DJ is simple. Martin Allen rated him as better than Matty Fryatt but then Martin Allen was IMO a terrible manager and rated some dreadful players including Carl Cort who he thought was "awesome". Four better judges - Gary Megson, Frank Burrows, Ian Holloway and Nigel Pearson thought Matty Fryatt was better. Nigel Pearson showed by prefering Max Gradl to Nicky Adams last season that a good pre-season will put a player in the team. All DJ has to do is to have a pre-season that means the manager picks him instead of Matty Fryatt. I shall be surprised if DJ can manage this.
