Maybe because the paper reporters dont go to the matches and so just give their ratings based on goals/assists/stats...

Or they were all using an agency reporter

IMO we don't need a left back as urgently as we need a box to box midfielder, a winger, and a striker.

I thought Maybury played well there on Saturday, and we've got pretty of players who can play in that position. Even if most of them are rubbish.

TBH though, i thought that johan was having a good season (comparable to last) at left back this year.

:018: :018: :018: What Game were you watching?

I don't think anyone had a bad game! (Williams apart).

Great ball down the wing for the last goal too.

I think he was quite poor tbh. He is just not a left back. He made several mistakes, and looked like a weak link.

BTW where has Nissa dissappeared to? This seems to be a bit of a trend with RK that players just disapper.

Fair enough, I'm not saying we don't need a left back. Just that there are other positions which i would like to see strengthing first.

I reckon Johan and kelly have had another lovers tif. Or he could be leaving...out of contract in the summer...cash in now.

the midfield is certainlty a matter of urgency. the fact that everyone including myself is so relieved when williams comes back from injury states our lack of a creative midfield with any real quality. for me williams although the best we have at current has never shown what is needed to complete a promotion winning midfield.

the left back possition has always been a concern to me. i dont feel we have had an established left back for years, although nissa does an ok job it is this kind of squares pegs in round holes policy that prevents us mounting serious promotion bids. you need established players playing in their established roles to have any consistency. same applies to the time we played maybury at right midfield, the guy hasnt really played in his real possition for a sustained period of time. the right side is a problem for us as much as the left (apeased by the introduction of levi) low was wank, hughes is unanimous in this area.

i think a general shake up is needed, and with the mm deal near (hopefully) we will be in the best possition to do it than weve ever been in.

He's my player of the season so far,

Second that Alex, for some reason a few people think that Pat Kis could be picked up by a Premiership club, IMO MacAully is a far, far better defender

He's differently turned it round.I wasn't too impressed earlier in the season. But his performance in the last couple of months, for me, puts him ahead of McCarthy and Kisnorbo.

I think Kellys got himself in a bit of a mess. He can't drop McCarthy because he's his captain, and taking the captains armband away would be a huge blow to the confidence.

I'd have MacAully and Kisnorbo as center backs.

You are right, he's struggling to fit McAully in, despite the fact he is in far better form than McCathy.

Kisnorbo scores goals for us though, typically good effort against Fulham, like the one at QPR. He's good at that. Good player too.

I think both struggle for pace, Kisnorbo gets easily turned and struggles with a ball played behind him. Maculay uses the ball a lot more better, Kisnorbo hoofs it, Maculay picks a pass, has a lot more composure too, if sometimes a little too much.
