Wasn't there a time when Internationals took place on a Wednesday evening? And was this the same time when there was no breaks for these games?

Now there are fewer games played, why is a break necessary? Aren't these supposed to be professional sportsmen at the peak of physical fitness?

My hairdresser used to work at a salon in town, and she said a certain Welsh ex-City player would go in every day after training to have his hair wash and blow dried. He also had a pedicure once a week.
