duno if anyone can help me here but we recently had a new cd rewriter installed and ever since whenever i import songs off my cds using itunes it does so at a really slow speed (3.5x), when it always used to go fast (8x). Im guessing its got something to do with my itunes being configurated with the old re-writer as the new one is meant to be faster then the old one! any ideas!

The speed quoted for the drive will be for reading data. Ripping audio from a CD is different, and quite often a faster drive for reading data won't be much good for audio. There used to be a good website that listed the music CD reading speed for different drives, but I can't remember the name at the moment.
