Henderson - 7 - solid but wish he commanded his area more.

Johansson - 6 - Good return. Applied himself well. Seemed determined to pick a player up at set pieces. Learned something from the Luton game.

Kenton - 7 - Best game so far. Looked solid at right back more than he has done in the other positions he's played so far.

McCarthy - 8 - Seemed to returned to his best.

Kisnorbo - 7 - Looked better for the game on Tuesday. Well taken goal.

Johnson - 7 - Much better passing the ball today rather than hoofing like he did on Tuesday.

Hughes - 7 - Good goal. Appeared to link up well with Johnson. Worked hard for the team.

Tiatto - 7 - What a tranformation from Tuesday. If he can put half like that every game then he'll worth the contract that we have given him.

Low - 8 - Did some excellent work, especially in the first half. By staying out wide makes play football rather than the crap served up the other night.

Fryatt - 7 - Could not understand why his goal was ruled out. Did well and work hard.

Hammond - 7 - Good positive game. Work across the line well although he lack understanding with Fryatt. Signs are good.

Porter - 6 - Found it difficult to get into the game. Did well once he started to with the ball rather than laying it off all the time. Will get better with experience.

Hume - 6 - Not on long but gave away some silly fouls. The goal showed that understanding he had with Matty last year hasn't disappeared. Will get back to his soon.

Weslowski - Not on long enough to rate but it was good to see him come on.

Good team performance. we are a better footballing side than that long aimless stuff we tried to play on Tuesday. Keep it up lads.

Johnson 8 - Man of the Match IMO, ran the game, controlled the tempo and someof his passing was sublime. Really positive influence on the club constantly talking and directing the players, a real leader.

Are you reading this HF? ;)

Hughes was my man of the match today. He just looked class, completely ran the show form midfield. I have not seen him play like that before in a city shirt. Also the fact we seemed to have some natural width and trouble there full-backs with Low and Porter was encouraging. Tiatto was also playing the game of his life before going off injured, I can't deny that no matter how shit he usually is.

I'm sorry pds but Hughes wasn't that good, his goal aside, which was an excellent strike.

I blame Hughes for their goal. Pissing about with it in midfield exchanging passes with Johansson and then a shocking clearance straight to Richards when he should have done better.

Kisnorbo, Fryatt and Low had a much more positive influence on the game imo than Hughes.

hume- 6 his fault we conceded and kept on givin away silly free kicks with minuted 2 go

Yes he did give away 2 silly free kicks. But neither led to their goal fortunately for him.

A good finish and longer term is a better partner for Fryatt.

Hopefully, Kelly dropping him to the bench, will give him the kick up the backside he clearly needed.

Baring in mind that was the worst Ipswich team I've ever seen:

Henderson 5 - Couple of straightforward saves but seemed to have no control of his area.
Kenton 6 - 3 games, 3 positions - fair play to him. Okay, but his positioning at full back was poor sometimes.
McCarthy 6 - Didn't do anything wrong but put under no real pressure.
Kisnorbo 7 - Strong and commited. Made some good challenges.
Johansson 4 - Got away with it as Ipswich didn't attack down his side but far from convincing.
Low 6 - Given room by shocking defending/marking, made a few decent crosses and influenced attacking play but should have done more with the time and space he had.
Johnson 5 - Best game of the season but still not making the sort of impact expected. Seems not fully fit.
Hughes 6 - Better than Williams anyday even though he lacks physical presence. Took his goal well.
Tiatto 6 - More like last season. Obviously told to hold position in 1st two games this time he roamed making a positive impact but any decent opposition would have exploited his absence on the left.
Fryatt 8 - Excellent, direct running with purpose. Made himself chances and was very unlucky not to get a couple of goals his effort deserved.
Hammond 4 - Dreadful striker. No chance of scoring as he can't control the ball and shits himself when near goal. Ran around with no purpose.
Porter 5 - Didn't do anything wrong but seemed to be given defensive role and so was inhibited.
Hume and Weslowski (not on long enough but nice to see a decent midfielder play a through ball and a decent striker finish with composure)

I thought overall a competant performance against a very poor Ipswich side, and until we can rid ourselves of the midfield problem where we need creativity and strength
allied to our left flank dilemma we are'nt going to crack too many pots, our last goal showed the way ahead........ through balls or more use of the flanks to give the front men more chances, and thats where our midfield problem comes in.
We are too lightweight( I thought Johnson might have been the answer but as yet has shown nothing)Hughes is lightweight, Williams is an enigma,Wesolowski jury out
he may have underlying problems, MacAuley not yet seen,
Tiatto??????.

sorry on rain peoples parades but ipswich were absolutely shockingly dreadful and could be the worst team I've seen for 3 seasons, IF we can roll over KovSkum on Friday I'll be more convinced about our prospects this season

Ipswich were one of the worst teams ever to play at the Walkers in the five years its been built.

Still a probelm on the left wing, the centre of midfield werent particularly creative and the two centre-halfs had it easy.

Kenton, the jury's still out.

It wasn't the fact that we lost,it was the manner in which we lost that seemed to dishearten people. If you believe that all our problems are behind us on the back of yesterdays win then great..roll on Friday.:) I will be the first to hold my hand and admit I'm wrong.

I certainly dont feel that all our problems are behind us. I don't think anybody does.

...add Tiatto to that list. I thought he was outstanding. Shame he had to go off with an injury.

I don't believe anybody is getting carried away, however a lot of faith was restored by yesterday's performance and result. Also RK seems to have sorted his tactics out and managed to get the players back tothe hard working and committed performances that were the hallmark of the last 16 league games last season.

maybe we should put hammond n hume up front against COVSCUM. Although, havving said that, Matty was very good in the air in yesterday's match. It was great for Hume to gewt off the mark, and thiswill also put the pressure on Fryatt n Hammond to score.
