I like the idea of naming animals after footballers. My brother (the erstwhile poster Virkie Fox) had a kitten he named Millsy. Should have changed it to Leroy Potter, as it went missing...

And (nicked straight from the Guardian) a Liverpool fan had a pet called, brilliantly, Gerbil Cisse, which was then outdone by another rodent, this one named Dietmar Hamster!
