KELLY GETS FOXES JOB

ROB KELLY will today be named new boss of Leicester after stunning the Foxes board with his rescue act.

Kelly secured Championship survival by winning seven of 12 league games since Craig Levein was sacked in January. He was rewarded with a 12-month rolling contract.

"Now we're safe everyone can look ahead and consider what direction to take," he said.

Excellent news, if it is true, lets hope there is a press conference today to announce it. I like the idea of the 12 month rolling contract, it offers a fair amount of stability, whilst also not over commiting the club.

Very similar situation to Billy Davies at PNE, who following a similarly successful step up from Assistant Manager to Caretaker Manager, was then appointed on a 12 month rolling contract, lets hope Rob enjoys similar success to Davies.

Things like this are usually done at a press conference to allow the club more publicity and "air time" & to reach those fans that can't make the game. I hope it is announced today and then RK gets a presentation to the crowd on Saturday

you mean like sitting at a little table and signing the contract?
No, the announcement is usually a press conference, not the signing of the contract. That is done before

no i meant on the pitch on satdee before the game, like they used to with the youngsters.
Sorry, I shouldn't imagine so, it is a tad patronising to a manager.

Although I would like to have seen CL sacked in front of the crowd after losing at home :icon_bigg

they should have put in him some stocks so we could have thrown wet sponges at him after the game against Millwall

According to the 'Paper Talk' column on Teamtalk, it is also being reported in the Daily Star that RK will be appointed today.

They're ususally finished training around 1ish. 30 minutes back to the ground and suited and booted. Be ready for a press conference at 2.00 if need be.
