this was the case with the same players last year including Joey, so how is he going to be the 'breath of freshair we need'?
He never grabbed a game by the balls and dictated play in the past so why should he now

Hull Home, Stoke Away for two.

I agree with everything else we was the best of a bad bunch but the new players have made the bunch worse.

This forum has more unfulfilled forecasts of "second comings" than the Jehova's Witnesses

Probably going to get linched for this, although Joey was our best player last year IMO he was the best of a bad bunch and not going to be the saviour everyone is setting him up for.
His performances for us in his time here were mostly 'could do better' and he never really found his best position.
Our midfield is dire at the moment with no player really knowing/playing in their best position and this was the case with the same players last year including Joey, so how is he going to be the 'breath of freshair we need'?
He never grabbed a game by the balls and dictated play in the past so why should he now and the only new player to try a partnership with is AJ and he has been toss.
Yes he would be better than we have, but not IMO going to have a big enough impact to change it too much.
But at least he supported the strikers which created more opportunities for them. I don't think the midfild gets into the box enough to help the strike force but that is something that Joey did, agreed no always effectively.

I'd be surprised if he did return, but he's exacly the kick-start our season needs

Deary me.....

We're all pretty sick of the dross being served up week-in, week-out - but it comes to something when we're wishing for the (not going to happen)return of an average joe....

(Yes, I did vote for him as player of the season last season, but he was/is average)

Spot on Bob. He wasn't even remotely in the same class as say Neil Lennon or Gary Parker for instance. Infact I don't think he's actually even any better than Andy Johnson. He was a workmanlike ball carrier and his passing was abysmal 90% of the time.
