Durham Fox

El Dude Brother.
Just been speaking to a mate who said Joey was on SSN last night and said he nearly changed his mind and stayed with us but the club didn't approach him to offer him a new deal. Sounded like he would have stayed apparently :102: :icon_roll

didn't have a manager at the time or was close to losing him, wasn't that the reason we didn't offer him one?

Narrow Mindedness?, Blinkeredness?

But what was to stop Joey informing the club that he didn't want to leave, or that he was considering his options still?

Language barrier.

He said it was like Joey was begging someone from the club to come and talk to you...
To me?, why did they see me at the 5 a side?

He accepted a pre contract well before the end of our season - we were in no position to offer him a contract of any sort at that time as we didn't know what division we would be in. He could have waited until the end of the season, but as far as I'm concerned he burnt his bridges with us when he signed the pre contract. I don't think we can blame LCFC in any way for this.

kind of agree with you real surely if he wanted to stay he wouldve done and not bothered looking elsewhere

It was CL he wanted to leave not Leicester City

At the end of the day if the club made no attmept to offer him a deal then he probably felt he had to take the 4 year deal on the table.

Nope, the fooker just kept asking me to make sure my passport was renewed in time for the Dutch season.

I agree with you, he has to look after number one, but as I've said, unfortunately we were not in a position at that time to offer anyone a contract. Also, I know he's just had a pretty good season for us, but the season prior to that wasn't anything special.

He made his decision in mid January when it looked like we were going no where but Div 1 and weren't in a position to offer a contract based on the fact we didn't know what division we were going to be in.

He has since said privately that he wished he could change his decision but the contract is signed with AZ and he can't get out of it.

The only way we could keep him now is to pay a fee to AZ and thats not possible with our finances.
