Just a quickie to anyone that's bought tickets with a credit/dabit card at the ticket office,

do you have to pay any service charge/booking fee when buying tickets from the ticket office with a credit/debit card? as i'm just about to buy 2 tickets online and there's a £5.28 service charge. won't bother if i can avoid it.

could pay cash on the day too i guess to save the extra but can't be bothered to que (how the hell do you spell queue?) out in the cold.

Yes and yes, but not as much as £5.28. There's a cash-point machine that you can use there to avoid the charge. I don't know whether the cash point machine charges. No charge for cash or cheques.

suprise suprise

LCFC is like a motorway service station, every thing costs you extra and the crisps are twice the normal price.

i should get my food etc from the welcome break on the way to avoid the QUEUE's

I thought phone was £1.50 - the same as email. You also have to pay whilst you're queuing on the phone.

Why not email them? No need to include your credit card details - they will ring you back for them if you gove them a number.

i dont see why they charge extra to pay online when it should make the process more convenient for everyone!

i won't be paying for the phone call, i'll ring from work :icon_wink

the email idea is even better in that case!

My understanding is the extra charge is to cover the charge the credit/debit card companies pass on to LCFC

I think the charge is only around 50p for a debit card and a couple of quid for credit cards.

but they are transferring the same amount of money whether it's online or over the phone.

Doesn't an agent deal with the on-line bookings? That might account for the extra.

LCFC's card acquirer will charge LCFC a certain amount for processing card transactions, as Cate correctly suggested it costs more to process a credit card transaction than a debit card transaction.
