Well the only way is up (when you look at the league) but I actually thought we did ok on Saturday.
I thought Douglas did ok. He commanded his area well and claimed quite a few crosses confidently.
It's good to see Connolly get off the mark with a decent finish (albeit deflected).
Sylla looked promising and definitely injected some pace into the team.
We definitely missed Tiatto and Hughes though and our midfield seemed a bit lacklustre at times.
Overall I thought we looked pretty darn good and if it hadn't had been for a referee who so desperately and ultimately so sadly wanted his five minutes of fame, we would have bagged at least a point from that match.
4-1 to the Blades is a freaky result and nowhere near an accurate representation of the match itself. Then again, who will remember that?
My summary of the match is this: If that's the best that one of the teams that are favourites to go up have got then I think we have a chance this year alas, if that's the standard of refereeing we can expect then it'll be a complete and utter lottery. Finally, if Neil Warnock ever, ever tries to speak to me I will grab the nearest custard pie and slam it in his poisonous, septic and disgustingly ugly face.
