Great signing, always great to see new young and effective strikers coming in.

Absolutely no idea how we've managed to do this one.

Would be delighted with someone like Barkley, but dem wages. And Everton want 50m!
Barkley is massively over rated hence Keomans willingness to get rid

Everton/Keoman's willingness to get rid is purely financial. Barkley can walk away for nothing next year hence the "sign a new contract or we'll sell you" option given to him.

I can see this one going to the last minutes of the window. I can also see Everton and Barkley being keen on a loan then. Everton would get a hefty loan fee and Barkley his move with the added benefit of a free transfer wherever he likes next summer with massive sign on fees etc.

If we were to lose Mahrez late in the window, it's not crazy to think we could do something there. I rate Barkley.

He will likely get cheaper as the window closes, and could be a real bargain if it drags on until January.

Yep, I agree.

I get why people are hesitant on Barkley, but, in a way, it's only because of that that I reckon we may have a slight chance of doing something. If he was pushing on, as many thought he would, Everton wouldn't want to let him go and there would be much bigger fish chasing him.

On a serious note - I'm happy with signing him. still think we're lacking a fair bit for the season and am so negative about it that we'll probably win the league again just to make me eat my words.

Moaning is what forums are largely for, isn't it? Get it out of your system. If we do alright you're pleasantly surprised, and can have a word feast. I think he's quite good from the tiny amount I've seen of him.

Don't get the fuss with Barkley. Whenever he gets the ball has has a pose which makes you think Fook me something's going to happen. Then he walks the ball into someone.

Bah, you've reminded me of Gareth Williams. Ay yi yi.

Any news on his injury last night?

lcfc.com quote from Shakespeare at the end of the game:
He’s fine in [the dressing room]. He’s getting a bit of a ribbing from the players in terms of him coming off. We’re just really making sure that was more of a precaution.

Good, thanks.
