Exactly, we are all pretty sure MM will be in this week, even the FT are hopeful, RK will be well aware of the takeover situation and estimated completion dates, so I would hope with that in mind his wish list would contain more ambitious transfer targets.

I dont know who people were expecting us to try and sign, Owen Hargreaves? Joey is decent and definitly a good championship player, signing him for 150k would have been good business. You have to remember that real proven quality premership players are, even if and when the Mandaric deal goes through, out if our price range and probably wouldnt wanna come here anyway. I have my doubts about Kelly but it seems some people look for any little thing they can have a pop at him about.

The reason he left us was nothing to do with money, it was Craig Levein. However, when Levein left there was plenty of chances then for the club to try and keep him, but for whatever reason it didn't happen.

I think you will find that by the time CL left Joey had already signed a pre-contract commiting him to his move. It could have cost us a lot then to get him out of it.

i think it was too late by that time. he has laready signed the AZ contract. he did openly say he wished he was staying.

Joey played really well for us for about four or five months but, since leaving Iceland at least, he's been a disappointment everywhere he's been: Villa, Wolves, Betis, AZ Alkmaar, 1st season at City...

Plus, we couldn't afford to replace all those balls in training that he'd launch into the back gardens of Aylestone.

But if we did have him back, he'd still be our best midfielder. Says it all, really.
