I dont understand why your so critical of Yann dave, yes he hasn't hit the back of the net, but everyone else on here at least acknowledges his other contributions to team, and I honestly can't remember a better headerer of the ball then Yann down city in recent times.

Howard 13 starts & 14 subs appearances 2 goals

Kermorgant 7 starts & 9 subs appearances no goals

Can I wait until Kermit has made another 6 starts and 5 off the bench before deciding?

Howard is wank and always has been. Give the frog more of a chance I say as most of the time he has been used this season, he's been more of an inside right/left than cenrte forward.

I'd imagine the Northern lump is on a fair whack as well so would be nice to get him off the books in the summer.

Steve Howard is likely to be on the books until the summer of 2011. You should prepare yourself to live with that fact.

because he is on a silly amount and no one else will pay anything near the same ala deej.

He was one of the main reasons for our success last year - on most occassions when he was out of the team, we looked a shadow of the team when he was in it. Admittedly, he was probably never a great Championship player and certainly isn't at his current age, but don't forget what he did for us last year.

I think Yann could become a very useful player. Excellent in the air, as mentioned, very mobile and a great touch. If he could just find the back of the net a couple of times, I think he'd be up and running.

I also echo the comments about N'Guessen - if he can repeat his performances of QPR away and Blackpool away, then he is a real handful a la Heskey circa 1997 (no, I'm not suggesting Dany's that good, just tough for defenders to deal with and a very useful option).

Utter bullshit and you know it.

:icon_lol: Good word DD. Dead right, Yann wins pretty much everything in the air and it almost always goes somewhere useful.

Yann is clearly good at certain things but hasn't settled yet in my opinion. I think given some more time in the English game and he'll start finding more space for chances and the like.

As for Howard being useless, he's not without his charms and he was an utter hero for us last year. I remember hearing that he was injured when I was on the way to Southend and I was all like, 'shit'. But it was okay in the end.

It is a bit difficult to compare stats for the two because Yann has barely played as a striker. Pearson keeps using him in more of an attacking midfield roale instead (usually because he's had too many strikers on the bench). All of Howard's appearances have been as a striker.

OK you've got me, he was good for luton and had one good season for the sheep. Apart from that though, pile of wanky shit.

Very poor scoring record, heavily restricts our style of play when selected, and to be honest, is pretty poor in the air for his size which is supposed to be the corner stone of his game! Yes he may actualy get his block on the ball but very rarely finds another city shirt.

That's not to mention the complete lack of pace, the turning circle of a P&O ferry and all the needless fouls he gives away and i could go on but i really need to get this order done at work before 5!

In conclusion, i feel he is not good enough for us and we should look to offload at the earliest opportunity. He's got to be on 10k+ coming from the sheep when they were in the prem and i cannot see how we can justify paying someone that much just to keep the bench warm.

Nice constructive criticism there H, I see where I have been evaluating incorrectly now.

Or seeing as there is no full stop at the end of the post, do I take it that you have not finished your post as yet? ;)

Howard was ****ing excellent for us last season. Without him we'd still be in division 1.

He's struggled this year, and maybe age is catching up with him, but if he's on a pretty big contract he certainly earned the majority of it simply for his contribution in last years promotion push.

Better?

Aaaaah, much better.

I think age is catching up with him. He's nearly 34, and yes, he was excellent last season, but that was in a division with an inferior standard of football than the Championship. The defences in this division are obviously of a higher standard than League One, and I think he's simply no longer capable of making a proper impact.

Agree with that, I was more responding to him being a "pile of wanky shit" for the bulk of his career.

I don't think he can help us much these days, although I'm willing to bet he has one or two more important goals up his sleeve over the next couple of months.

I can't be arsed to read this thread, however if someone can let me know how good the aforementioned players are on Championship Manager, I should be able to make a judgement pretty quick sharp like. Wizz, flash.
