I thought he was a perfectly competent left back for us last season. In the summer, NP held talks with Nicky Shorey which was made public and I recall PK tweeting about not knowing what was going on, etc. NP clearly thought he could do better and tried and failed.

That then leaves a fairly disappointed player I assume. He was appalling against Blackburn.

He has looked very poor indeed this season I must admit.

Generally he was one of our most dependable players last season in a season riddled with inconsistency but had a very poor end to last season and he seems to have picked up from where he left off last season unfortunately, rather than being the solid player he was for the majority of last season.

So you think he was poor at the end of last season then? ;)

Only towards the very end, mind.

He has been nothing short of terrible this season. When he flew in yesterday and totally missed the ball It was a golden opportunity for Blackpool, luckily he was let off the hook.

am I the only one who thought he was ok yesterday?

Was about to say the same! So no.

I didn't think he was that bad either. Made a couple of mistakes, but nothing that made me cringe. But......I thought that Drinkwater wasn't great and everyone has him as man of the match.

Did you watch it on tv or live? Because I think Drinkwater's performance was one of those types of performances you seem to notice a lot more live than on the tv i.e. he didn't make any flashy passes, tackles, shots etc. which would be mentioned by commentators, but he was just absolutely everywhere, playing one-twos, finding and creating space and generally the team playing through him.

Spot on

Konchesky, however, was complete toss. He may look good coming forward if you watch it on the telly - but he is a defender who isn't very good at defending

This makes the departure of Tom Kennedy all the more surprising.
Oh well, in NP we trust!

He seems to make one or two mistakes every game that present goal scoring opportunities to the opposition. When he decided to fly in on Sat without thought he nearly cost us, It would have been awful if we had gone 1 down, we needed that win badly, I hate to think a stupid moment of madness could have set us bad a long way.

Don't get me wrong I really likes him last season, something seems to have changed with him though, he even gets bullied off the ball easily.
