....Under-fire Leicester boss Craig Levein admitted his side suffered a hangover from last week's famous FA Cup success against Spurs.

Leicester were almost unrecognisable as they dropped into the relegation zone following a 2-1 defeat at Shefield Wednesday

"There's always that," admitted Levein.

"We started well, but they came back into it. We dominated the second half, but I'm disappointed we didn't make them work as hard as we should have done."

Taken from Teamtalk, so now the excuse is that we won last week, so the players were suffering from a hangover from that perormance and victory. Utter fecking clap trap, the truth the players didnt fancy it yesterday, pitch a bit fecked, relegation 6 pointer, not on telly. Funny how Wednesday managed to battle away to 3 points.

We lose a game and it is a confidence problem, we now win one and we suffer from a hangover no wonder we are where we are in the league. What about Craig coming out and telling the truth, that we didnt compete, we didnt match Wednesday's passion and desire, and that performance was unacceptable.

Also taken from the same website. Some "interesting" comments to say the least from Levein !

Craig Levein insisted abuse from his own supporters was "part and parcel of the job" after Leicester's 2-1 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday plunged them into the Championship relegation zone.

A small minority of the travelling supporters chanted "You don't know what you're doing" and "Levein out" during the closing stages.

It was a far cry from the Foxes' exhilarating 3-2 FA Cup victory against Tottenham last weekend and extends their winless Championship streak to eight matches.

"I can understand their frustrations and that's part and parcel of the job," said Levein. "But it's up to us to try and get back to winning ways next week against Cardiff.

"Maybe this was a reality check after last week. The players dream about playing in the Premiership, but in reality it's a lot different.

"It was the same players who played last week against Spurs, and there is obviously an element of inconsistency. But it's the drop-off rate that is alarming. It's about having the desire to win games in the Championship. We've got good players who probably don't see themselves as relegation candidates - and it's that mind-set that doesn't help us."

To be fair, the guy didn't offer it as an excuse himself from the looks of things. Although I'm getting impatient with him myself, there's no need to immediately jump down his throat for slightly agreeing with something that was suggested to him.

Great post, but IMHO I believe he has now lost the crowd to a point of no return.
Tactics yesterday again baffled me, and his use of substitutions was dreadful. I am sure the SPL must be to our league 1 standard, and christ thats where we are heading.........
I am sure people will say who can we have to take over? Try me I cannot do any worse!! I would have the players in training today! And as for the players not clapping the crowd after the game, that took the afternoon to an even lower level.
Please CL resign while there is still some dignity to be had.....

Large part of the crowd from where I sat.......

We DID dominate the second half, but that's because Sheff Weds seemed happy to sit back and defend. We never looked like breaking them down to create any good chances. Their first attack of any note in the second half (and their first shot) didn't happen until injury time, that's how bad they were.

We didnt create very much though did we, the fact is that statement from Levein can be turned into another game where we were unlucky, the truth is Wednesday were shite but they battled, where as we were shite and played like cowards !

Wednesday sat back and basically said to us in the 2nd half, have a go and try to break us down, as webbo has stated, but we very rarely threatned, it was a powder puff performance.

It wasn't the same players as played Spurs anyway. The big difference was Kisnorbo and Hammill for Joey and Ryan Smith ( all right Hammil started against Spurs but was way off the pace )
Kisnorbo is LEVEIN'S EQUIVALENT OF JUNIOR LEWIS. Unless he sees the light and ditches this slow and ineffective but probably cringingly loyal non leaguer Levein deserves the same as Taylor - the sack and eternal wrath of all who love LCFC.

we had less then 5 shots in 2nd half I think if thats dominating then I am concerned also we was the losing team and are expected to domainate at that stage.

Is levein desperate to get the sack, those type of comments are justmoving him closer to the door marked exit IMO.

He is losing every sense of reality, this happened towards the end for MA too, strange tactics, odd substitutions, the middle of the end for him I think.

Yet they scored twice as many goals as us....

Apparently new rules in football, come May 2006 Leicester City will not be relegated despite finishing in the bottom 3 because they always had more shots than the other side. Therefore it would be unfair to relegate such an unlucky side !

Truth is they were shit and so were we, but they wanted to compete and battle where as we just hid, they scored twice, we scored once and therefore they won, got three points, we got feck all yet again and now we are in the bottom 3, end of !
