Apparently new rules in football, come May 2006 Leicester City will not be relegated despite finishing in the bottom 3 because they always had more shots than the other side. Therefore it would be unfair to relegate such an unlucky side !

Truth is they were shit and so were we, but they wanted to compete and battle where as we just hid, they scored twice, we scored once and therefore they won, got three points, we got feck all yet again and now we are in the bottom 3, end of !
as some one once said to me, there are no flukes and no good or bad luck when you look at the results. Just who won and who lost.

Yet they scored twice as many goals as us....

I was trying to make the point (unsuccessfully) that 'shots at goal' is not a reliable measure of anything other than that - certainly not a guide to who is going to win the game. Chrysalis suggested that 5 shots on goal does not amount to domination - I was merely countering that it needed less shots than that to dominate where it really matters - in the 'goals scored' and points won' columns.

I think that the real difference is that we can do well against the teams who think they can beat us by attacking, but perform poorly against those who close the game up. I'm amazed that nobody seems to have worked out what Spurs and Sheffield United had in common.

Least of all Levein ! But surely when we went 1 - 0 up that forced Sheff Wed to come back at us and when they did we capitulated conceded 2 goals and then never really threatened after that. So to be honest I dont completely go along with that. Also isnt that the managers job to come up with a game plan to beat those types of tactics.

And a lot where I was sat were telling them to shut up.

Your point being????

I was just pointing out that there was more people calling for his head than those that didn't.

I have also posted saying that I disagree with it totally. Protests should have been after the game, not fecking during it...:icon_evil

My point being (and supported here by others) that it was a minority who made the chants in question, as the original report stated.

I am certain that you are wrong. In any case it might not be fashionable to agree with Goebbels, but he did have it right about those who make the most noise.

I know you did - and I agree with you. If only the empty barrels could see the sense in what you say.

Pleat, Taylor and MA all have negative reputations at this club, and to one extent or another performed badly, but not one of them managed to drag this club into the 3rd tier.

CL's rule is threatening to drag us lower than we have ever been before
He is risking the possiblility of financial ruin for the club
He is, if left unchecked, going to ruin what should be a great club

And he doesn't care

Nothing in his interviews, post-match or pre, nothing in any of his quotes or style of play lead me to believe he shows ANY concern about where we are in the league, after all he can get another job next year, he has had his break into the English leagues. For this reason alone he should be forcefully removed.

Of course he cares.

Even if he has no personal pride in his job (which I doubt), he's not just going to walk into another good job if he gets us relegated, so he cares about keeping us up for his future career, if nothing else.

OK i correct myself, he doesn't (appear) to care about this club

Motivation appears to be the key problem - the lads need to realise that they are not heading for the play offs and need to show some commitment and fight - this is the only way they will get the crowd back on side. At this present moment in time, I wonder how many of the team have got the bottle for a relegation fight....

IMO 3 - Stearman, McCarthy and Rab.

I think you are about right there Durham.... although Dion has been there a few times....

we have been in a relegation battle for a few weeks IMO. The Commitment from the players has dropped the lower down the league we get. if that trend continues we will get worse.

IMO, thanks to the repeated 'Unlucky' excuse from CL the players must feel that everything is against them anyway, so why bother.

Spurs was a shop window, but i do feel that many players have given up hope in the league.

Ever since the relegation season we've looked fragile. During that season we were forever giving away leads and conceding late goals to either draw or lose matches. IMO both the club and the fans have never recovered from the way we messed up games( Wolves 3-4, Boro 3-3) in that dire season, and the anxiety and lack of belief has got to the fans. Nobody sits comfortably anymore when we're in front, and i struggle to remember the last time we won a game with ease. Although its hard to see where the next win is coming from, its even harder to remember the last time we won 2 lge games on the trot. All this tells me theres a weak underbelly, in a team which is filled with players that lack both physical and mental ability when the questions are asked.
