I went Tamworth and I know it was a friendly and the result don't matter but it seemed to me like the more senior lads didn't care, Oakley only had a few touches and didn't do much with them whilst Howard was the same. Hobbs was very strong at the back and Weale looked good and was very vocal in goal.

On the whole a crap day as I had to pay adult for the train and I missed the Tamworth goal and the game was woeful.

Remember you said that.

but it seemed to me like the more senior lads didn't care,

Utter bollocks.

Oakley only had a few touches and didn't do much with them whilst Howard was the same.

Starting to think you went to the wrong game. Oakley ran the midfield and Howard won several headers.

Hobbs was very strong at the back and Weale looked good and was very vocal in goal.

Both undoubtedly true.

On the whole a crap day as I had to pay adult for the train

Because, unbelievably, you count as an adult.

and I missed the Tamworth goal

Why?

and the game was woeful.

IT WAS A FRIENDLY!

It is not utter bollock it is my opinion and I think a lot of the players were not putting the effort in they should have, I don't care if it is a friendly or not.

No, I was definelty at Tamworth. Howard won a few in the air which isn't many against a part time defender, and Oakley hardly ran the midfield he did nothing spectacular and was average.

Thanks.

I am not an adult I am 16.

Wasn't looking at the pitch when they scored.

And? Does that mean you can't have a good game?

I'm sorry, but some opinions are flatly wrong. This is Stockport away all over again, where people were accusing Oakley of being shit when he was in fact man of the match. Sorry HF, you're completely wrong on this one. Granted they didn't play like they would in a league game, but it wasn't a league game. It was a run out to sharpen up fitness.

No, I was definelty at Tamworth.

I wasn't actually suggesting you went to Burton v Derby instead :icon_bigg

Howard won a few in the air which isn't many against a part time defender, and Oakley hardly ran the midfield he did nothing spectacular and was average.

Were you expecting Howard to chase down every lost cause and bag a hat trick? Maybe win some aerial balls that weren't anywhere near him? And perhaps you could name the presumably myriad players who were better than Oakley?

I am not an adult I am 16.

As far as train companies are concerned, they're the same thing. This has been explained to you at length elsewhere. I don't agree with it, but that's the way it is, always has been and probably always will be.

Wasn't looking at the pitch when they scored.

You were at a football match and in the 87th minute you were not looking at the pitch :102: I don't get it.

And? Does that mean you can't have a good game?

No, it means your expectations shouldn't be so high. Some games aren't thrillers, as I'm sure you'll have noticed every time we play Burnley.

I would have thought that matches against Loughborough & Tamworth would and should prove precisely........nothing. Except, as some measure of the development of fitness levels.

I have a bit of a view that these days clubs play too many pre-season practice games for their own good. I read the other day that Burnley are scheduled to play an incredible number of such games in preparation for getting relegated next season. I just wonder how many injured players they will suffer before the proper kick off.
They are playing Leeds at home on a Saturday in August,a recipe for trouble I would imagine

I went to the Tamworth game...my first city game in 5 years...well worth the wait let me tell you.

I cried, I laughed, I had a pony...everything I had always dreamt of.

By the way, that Craig King character looked poor. I thougt Parkes was excellent when he came on, and I'm not convinced about Neilson just yet.
