I walked by it before the Wolves game.

The club were handing out those awful pissy lager cans around the ground and then stopping anyone who had one from entering the fan zone.

Everyone was confused.

What’s the atmosphere like in and around the ground these days?
It’s ****ing diabolical. Dreadful.

I go to one match a year and I was told the Man City match was about as lively as it’s been…and it was ****ing shit. Just the constant echoing of away fans taking the piss for 90 minutes. Can’t be the best environment to play your football.

Everyone in the place is over 60, for a start.

Made me depressed, to be honest.

They’re the only ones that can justify / afford to go.

My monthly wage is not bad. I still don’t feel I can justify dropping £60 on two hours that might well be utter dross. In fact, is likely to be.
What does the club offer me for that money? Genuinely?

You kind of suspect that there are a lot of people, in positions of power at the club, who the “this is fine” meme would apply to.

Blissful, or wilful, ignorance, you could say.

If they’re still selling tickets, I guess the argument is why do they care?

No long term plan for when the current fanbase moves on / passes on whatsoever. I am sure the mindset will be that it will happen once they’ve left the club

kind of my point, I guess, just short term management, rather than a longer term vision.

Also true of just about everything though nowadays. People in executive positions only focus on their own reputations and the next bonus.

There is very little to be gained by instilling a long term vision into LCFC for those that have the power to do it.

That's exactly why there is a place for an organisation like the Foxes Trust. Their entire purpose is about long term sustainability and progress. It's such a pity that the people running the FT have been so inept at doing this.

See politics, too.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. £60 doesn't even get you much of a ticket for many of the games. Oh and don't forget if you've got a membership and are attending less than 10 games, you can basically add a fiver to the cost of each of those tickets.

Add in a pie and pint and the drive from Birmingham and back and I'm spending at least £100 and a full day. I can't justify it, which is why I've only been twice this season and haven't missed it much.

Meanwhile, Birmingham has a great food and music scene at the moment. For £75 I can go out for a genuinely awesome meal and for an extra £30-40 I can go see a show or a gig and be almost guaranteed high quality entertainment.

Last sentence is the one that gets me.
Football (and other live sport I suppose) holds a very unusual space in ticketing.

If Kasabian were shit, you’d expect a refund.
If Leicester are shit, you’ve not a hope of getting one.
Strange business.

If Leicester gave a refund every time they weee shit, we would probably now be in the bottom tier of local football…

I asked what I thought were some quite important questions that the club should answer about long term future and sustainability almost 2 weeks ago now.

Crickets ever since.
