I get a bit pissed off with the Murray thing to be honest. Not to belittle the achievement or anything but it should be obvious that Mo Farah would be the winner in a fair minded world. I don't begrudge Murray the win in the year he won Wimbledon for the first time as it was , I suppose, the big sport story of the year. But not this time. It ****s me off that the majority of his votes will come from middle aged women who watch Wimbledon & then don't give 2 shits about any other sport for the rest of the year. Not even other tennis tournaments.

Actually, Murray won Wimbledon for the second time, defended an Olympic title, captained GB to the Davis Cup and finished the year as the number one in the world. Not a bad achievement but then again I'm not a tennis fan.

Which is STILL trumped for me by winning both long distance titles at one Olympics for the 2nd time. Matter of opinion I know but the difference in votes between the 2 was ****ing ridiculous. & Tennis is not a ****ing Olympic sport. Same as Golf isn't. They were just added to put bums on seats & as a sop to egotistical types in both sports who just want an Olympic medal to put in the cabinet. You become a golfer or tennis player to win majors & grand slams, not Olympic gold. That's not your motivation. Murray should have come 2nd & would have done without the moist knickered housewife vote.

I agree on tennis not being an olympic sport, only problem with that is that it was one of the sports at the first modern games in 1896.

As for Murray, to become number one in the world at Tennis is no easy feat. He's had an incredible year and deserves all the credit he's due. Many people wrote him off when he first appeared on the scene. I never believed he had the mentality to win Wimbledon, never mind two.

I'd have also been happy if Mo Farah had won.

So a 'personality' can have no personality.
