Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, known as Top, has written to Leicester fans in tonight's programme over the club's transfer window.

While he insists the club's financial future is secure, he added: "Due to an increase in our net spend over recent seasons, some measures were necessary to ensure we managed our compliance with the game sustainability regulations while we continue to build our wider revenue streams to compete with established elite in the long term.

"Our short term means offsetting such expenditure generating profits through player trading full stop. We did that successfully for five straight summer windows before 2021 where we opted to make further investments in the squad without a significant sale for this summer. We couldn't risk unbalancing that equation further. So we decided to space would need to be made in the squad before new additions could be brought in.

"Building the club to a level where we are less reliant on player trading takes good management, strategic sustainable investment, success on the pitch and time."

Translation "we had a perfectly good model that had been sustainable over a number of season but decided to ditch it and the finances are now in a mess, we hope that spending a ton of cash on developments will fix the situation"

Or, you've completly misinterpreted that and, as many of us have been saying since day one of this window, we are doing the sensible thing in trying to reduce our salary outgoings so that we don't fall foul of FFP.

It's perfectly ****ing obvious that this was the case and it's perfectly sensible to invest in infrastructure if we want to grow the club. Don't let that get in the way of all the made up horseshit about being in financial ruin though.

Honestly, I'd much, much rather the club be run this way to secure financial sustainability than for us to make the same syupid mistakes that have seen other clubs implode.

It's exactly the sort of statement that will placate thicko's.

I have no idea who that is. Will I be offended if I google it?
You can probably type for effectively than Stannis to be fair.

Scrub that joke it wasn’t Stannis who lost his fingers was it?

So in the past we've sold a player each year to bring in money, last year we didn't and everyone was happy that the squad stayed intact, now there's complaints there is no money to spend...

And in the same window we spent £15m on a 5th choice centre back.
