Semi Vs Villa and then we're on to a winner.

Bollocks to the Manc/Scouse derbies - 2 legged Midlands derby will be a much better spectacle.

Shit draw, but if we can keep anywhere near this kind of form we can beat anyone, especially shitty overrated Marco Silva and his pet Richarlison.

Am I right in thinking the semi isn't played at Wembley for the league Cup?

We don't have much of a history with Everton in cup games.

We've never played them in the League Cup before.

We've played them twice in the FA cup. Musa coming off the bench to score two in a 2-1 win at Goodison in 2017, and a 3-1 home defeat in 1968.

We've also played them in the Full Members Cup (known as Zenith Data Systems Cup at the time), a 2-1 win in 1991. I remember a long range Steve Thompson goal in that game.
****. I remember the 1968 cup-tie. David Nish got an equaliser near the end of the first-half but we did nowhere near enough to win the game. Second half was spoiled by a lot of gamesmanship from Gordon West, falling to the ground every time Frank Large came anywhere near him, claiming that Large had poked him in the stomach. I was in the Kop and I reckon it happened 6 or 8 times, even though Frank poked him no more than twice.

Pity we didn't do better as we'd beaten ManCity for the first time in seven 1960s cup-ties in the previous round.

Spare a thought for the poor Kloppster he has an agonising decision to remain in the competition or play in the world club comp with infinitely more revenue. Everton are definitely a team we should be beating bring it on !

What a bunch of moaners. This tie is eminently winnable, their manager is as weak as their squad. And then we'll be in a semi final

The tie we've got is slightly worse than the average one we could have hoped for. Firstly, it's away again and that's a disadvantage. Then there were probably three easier and three tougher opponents we could have drawn.

However, we shouldn't be focused on this tie, we should be looking at winning the cup.

In those terms, it is a terrible draw. Both Manchester sides will be in the semi finals and likely Liverpool.

So, our QF draw is worse than average and the rest of the draw is about as bad as it could be.

Our odds on winning this were 6/1 before the draw and 8/1 afterwards for a reason.

Still a bunch of ****ing moaners.
The cup is all about the luck (or not!) of the draw.

Who gives a chuff if we end up with both Manchester clubs and Liverpool in the semis? If we want to win this cup then we should be prepared to beat the best.

Would have been nice to have had a home tie for a change, but at least we finally avoided Man City. Strange to think we could potentially win the cup without ever having played at the home this year...
