Well i'm very sorry statto that i seem to have upset you.

The club had an allocation of 3,500 tickets for the Leeds game. There are some on sale until 10am tomorrow morning. My guess is that they have held back about 150 tickets to accomodate this.

The lady I spoke to said they had returned (out of the allocation) 400 tickets, of which Leeds were happy to sell on the day of the game. Now if we had only sold 2,000 tickets, I would have thought she would have said, we've sent 1,500 tickets back, but Leeds are only prepared to offer 400 on the day. But she never did.

By allocating 3,500 they have committed to giving us behind the goal rather than the usual 'yellow' seats in the corner as that only holds 1,800.

It would lead me to believe that we have sold in excess of 2,900 for the game, with roughly 150 being held for sale until 10am and 400 sent back, making the 3,500 (ish) total.

I'd be amazed if we take 3,000 to Leeds. We didn't take anywhere near than many last season, and it was a much more important game. We took less than 2,000 to Rotherham earlier in the season. As Bob pointed out we only took 1,600 to Wigan, which is a similar distance to Leeds - and many people went to that match because it's a ground we haven't played at before.

The club may have sent 400 tickets back early to make sure they're available when fans get there, rather than have the situation we had at Rotherham, where the returned tickets from the club arrived late which resulted in a queue at the turnstile. But that doesn't mean there are only 400 tickets remaining, the club may still have another 1,000 - or we may not have had all the tickets from the initial allocation, there's no point priniting tickets we're not going to use.

Webby, if I remember it was mid week and on SKY. Also I have I already pointed out we havn't got the corner of the ground.

Leicester to Leeds is 96 miles, and according to rac will take 1hour 40 mins, travelling at a speed of 60mph. With the majority of people driving at a higher speed you can probably knock 15 - 20 mins off that time. Wigan I agree is only a short distance further (12 miles to be exact) but takes 2hours 30mins according to rac, again you can knock off 15 - 20mins for speed difference, but it's still an extra hour.

My guess is we'l have somewhere in the region of 3,000 there tomorrow.

We'll have 2500, end of.

Does anyone really care ?

Joe, I insist that you count each and every person there tomorrow, and I demand a full report on Monday.
feel free to use an R&R gauge if it helps

But Rotherham this season wasn't.

What difference does that make?

And the Wigan match may have been slightly further, but the ticket was cheaper, and the car park was free, so I'm sure that, along with it being a 'new' ground influenced people who may have had to choose between Wigan or Leeds.
I got home from Wigan by 7pm, I'd be surprised if I got back from Leeds that quickly.

I reckon it will be between 2,000 and 2,500.

Has anyone asked the ticket office how many we've sold?

I might go in to get my ticket this afternoon so maybe I'll ask then.

I'd say all this arguing is pathetic. Does it matter? I'd rather be with 50 fans singing for the whole match than 30,000 silent 'fans', away games are always more fun than home games and we always have less fans at away games, think about it.

I would say that Leeds v Leicester is a bigger game than Wigan v Leicester though, should add 200 more tickets to the sold list.

I have . Apparently it is a secret because they want Joe to go around and count them all.

I think going to Leeds is abit more appealing than going to Rotherham !

The away corner only holds 1,800, and by allocating 3,500 they have commited to giving us behind the goal. If we have only sold 2,000 why only offer 400 on matchday ? In what interest is that to Leeds who are in debt ? They surely would have said there will be 1,000 or 1,500 tickets available on the day. We only had 2,000 tickets and wigan, but as the OS said we could have had up to 8,000 had we wanted them.

But it's also further to go to Leeds. You earlier suggested that the distance to Leeds would make the crowd bigger than what we had at Wigan. So the shorter distance to Rotherham should make that more popular than Leeds.
Maybe some people will prefer to go to Leeds because they're 'more attractive', but I don't go to watch the opposition.

I don't think we'll sell anywhere near 400 tickets at the turnstile, so making more than 400 available won't make any difference at all. The vast majority of people buy their tickets in advance.

I'm sure if more than 400 ticketless fans do turn up there will be space for them in the ground, but there's no point printing tickets that aren't going to be used. As you said, Leeds are in debt, they don't want to waste even more money.

Exactly

A nice pie salad, with Tomato sauce dressing

Well how many pies do you think we'll take to Leeds then Homer? I'd say 275 at least.
