Newton Starts

New signing Shaun Newton has been named in Rob Kelly's starting line up for the Championship clash against Leeds United at the Walkers Stadium.

The 31-year-old comes in for his first start after joining the club from West Ham United over the weekend.

Elsewhere, Alan Maybury comes back into the side at right-back after missing last Saturday's trip to Crystal Palace.

Andy Johnson and Richard Stearman make way for the duo.

Paul Henderson continues in goal, with a back four of Maybury, Patrick Kisnorbo, Gareth McAuley and Nisse Johansson playing in front of him.

Newton, Stephen Hughes, Jason Jarrett and Levi Porter make up the City midfield from right to left, while Geoff Horsfield and Iain Hume are named in attack.

City: Henderson, Maybury, McAuley, Kisnorbo ©, Johansson, Newton, Johnson, Hughes, Porter, Hume, Horsfield.
Subs: Logan, Tiatto, Stearman, Yeates, Hammond.

Leeds: to follow.....

that midfield is weaker that my grans knees!

jarrett makes way or johnson? the official site are bloody useless. they've got chimpanzees running the site!

stephen hughes is not the man for football. forget a bloody battle!

Suprised to see Johnson left out altogether, and that Hughes moves in the centre. Thought he would've just been dropped.

Hopefully Newton can make a difference and get some good crosses into the Horse's head. Nice to see a proper right winger out there for a change!

I think the Horse will score tonight, hopefully he'll be up for it being against one of his former clubs.

I hope we ****ing rip them apart and that wanker Wise gets a load of abuse thrown his way.

Cmon City!

is johnson out or is it jarret? can someone confirm please?

Oh yeah hadn't noticed that. I'm guessing it is Johnson out since they've mentioned him being left out and Jarrett in the midfield.

Such sloppy reporting...

'They are consistently inconsistent...'

Colin Gibson is a Prat...

sloppy is a word that sums our season up

The players seem to play like their season is over now, but they should ****ing know how important it is for the fans to beat that little shit and send him down.

Barber asked Ian Miller (I think?) about Stearman's lack of progess this year, said he was coming on well in the last couple of years but doesn't seem to be this year. Miller said "well I don't know really I wasnt here last year". Helpful

Miller at least admits we were shite on the weekend and says after that sort of result you're tempted to make big changes, but we'd done well in the previous 6 games and hopefully it was just a blip and the players deserve a chance to put that right.

Come on boys :038: :038: :038: everyone seems well up for this like a bloody cup game. dont let us down fellas and knock the little gobshyte feckwit down.:098:
