Vestergaard is already looking like a disastrous signing and yet we have no choice but to play him :042:
Yep, Amartey should have been stronger but Vestergaard was literally a yard away and just stood and watched before letting the ball go through his legs.

The guy can't defend at all.

The personnel and formation are secondary worries really.

I don't think it matters.

We are a confused mess. BR has overcomplicated things with this group of players and they haven't faith in the plan. That much is obvious.

My first of several confused thoughts.

Why are we playing Tielemans deepest in the centre of the three midfielders? He is capable of playing that role but surely it suits Soumare more.
Because neither of the other 2 can pass a ball forward or more than 5 yards.

Ay, you see Brendan has decided to sign a midfielder with no history of goals or assists and turn him into a #10.

He may have disappeared up his own arse.

I keep waiting for a simplified, stripped down, back to basics performance and approach. Instead we appear to be getting more and more convoluted with each passing moment.

Let's spend the whole season trying to qualify for European football and then deliberately go out in the group stage, we are going to have a shit season and will struggle I can see BR getting sacked.

Their keeper is making his debut and we haven't even made him make a save yet.

Fastest player on the pitch and we haven't once bothered to try and get him in behind.
Unless you count the couple of times Tielemans has gone full Coatsworth and punted it straight down a defender’s throat.

I mentioned as much previously. The similarities to 16/17 are uncanny really.

I remember waiting for the other shoe to drop and it just never did. Felt like one big performance would sort things out, but it never arrived.

Feels the same at the minute. Waiting for a breakthrough that might never show up.

What concerns me at this point is of the ten first-teamers to join permanently since BR came in, only four can be called anything like successful, and arguably one of those shouldn’t even count — Tielemans was already here on loan. Two others are currently long-term injured. We’ve also had three loanees, two of which flopped abysmally.

I’m not saying everything is shit because teams take time to find a rhythm, but we’ve spent a lot of money on players who’ve so far done very little of note.

If he sends that same 11 out again I dont think I can watch any more

Spot on. We've got loads more players to rotate but I don't think our team now is better than the one we had two years ago. Lots of incomings, but very few make us better.

BT’s idents really are ****ing witless aren’t they?
