Enjoyed the game. We had a good go against a difficult opponent.

A shame we couldn’t squeeze 90 out of Vestergaard. Suspect we would have been better off.

We scored what looked a good goal to me, with the inconsistent VAR rules confusing again.

Convinced Laporte should have been sent off in the build up to that moment too.

I actually think that’s the best we’ve played. And plenty of players coming back to fitness.

Lookman and Nacho really unsettled them.

We weren't too bad. One moment of stupidity from our keeper cost us the game.

Maddison, Vestergaard, Bertrand all had good games. Lookman was excellent when he came on and looks good for a start next time out. Barnes better than he has been but still not up to full speed.

Disappointing but not an awful performance by any means.

Barnes should have scored with his header.

Not a performance to be too ashamed of. You knew it was over when we began to tire and our midfield couldn't get ahold of the ball or get it out of our half without aimlessly hoofing it up to albrighton, who is simply not suited to this match and slowed us down every time he got the ball

I may be misunderstanding the new directives.

I thought if a linesman thought a player was offside he was instructed to flag rather than wait for the play to unfold. That rather than waiting for the “goal” to go in before raising.

Either way Laporte should have walked.

Not a bad performance by any means. Could have gone either way and Man City got a bit of luck for their goal. Vestergaard looked good in his 60 mins. Too early to judge Lookman but a positive little cameo from him. My main gripe is that we were a bit sloppy with our passing on numerous occasions which often either caused our attacks to break down or put Man City in a position to be able to create something when we gave it away trying to pass out from the back.

Maddison looked better in the first half but IMO he was really bad in the second and the chief culprit for giving the ball away during our own counter attacks.

Got to agree with the commentator and wander whether we should have started with two upfront from the start today as Nacho made a big difference when he came on.

It wouldn't have been daylight robbery if we'd taken a point but, there was so much about which to be pleased. Vestergaard looked a monster, until he visibly tired; Evans is back and Cags looks back to form. Lookman offers something extra, Bertrand had a good competitive debut. Wow, things are looking good!
