You're probably right. It's so frustrating to see flashes of good stuff among the dross though. Maybe it is that regularity that he needs.I reckon he will score a lot of goals if he's played regularly.
Though I agree entirely that he's a frustrating player at times.
The performance of Slimani was such a confusing one. During the first half, I was pretty convinced I'd judged him correctly all along; completely useless with a terrible touch, no eye for a pass and no skill with the ball at his feet whatsoever - he was dire. Then, the second half begins and a completely different Slimani arrived on the pitch. Holding up play smartly, doing the simple things really well, winning the ball, bossing defenders.... 'Great!' I thought. I really was seeing something akin to a good striker. Then...... That chance! How easy does he want it?
So, I'm a little stuck as to what to think of him right now! I think I'd better just wait to see what next season brings (unless we get a massive offer from China for him in which case I'd be happy for him to seek pastures new).
Game was a mirror of our season.
He certainly makes things happen, I love the way he pulls away at the far post. So unlike anything we've had, probably since Brian Deane.I reckon he will score a lot of goals if he's played regularly.
