As much as I disagree with a lot of what you say, we have practically kept and released the same players in the other thread. Except for your bizarre dislike for Slimani. So I guess it must speak volumes about you too MaC.
Its not a dislike I just dont think he is good enough at this level hope I am proved wrong, we do have a decent group of players I do not think we added well Ndidi being the only exception.

So you are happy to throw a £30m striker in the bin and deem him not good enough, despite him not being played in his natural position?

And then you want us to throw a 3 year contract at a caretaker manager who has won 2 of his last 10 games?

Sounds reasonable.

Let's just remember that when Slimani was playing up top when Vardy couldn't be arsed to play for Ranieri, he was our top scorer and looked like scoring more in each game he played.

I get your point however would you keep Musa because he is 15 million? Slimani's control is poor his passing substandard and he missed a hatful yesterday, I dont think he was worth anything near the 30 million price tag IMO.

This season we tried to buy recognised players from different leagues and it failed I think they were CR choices and not chosen by our scouting team, that is where we suffered they did not take us up another gear. I sincerely hope I am made to eat my words but I dont see it happening

He wasn't bomb proof, he was sacked. Top 6 club? We're hardly Manure or Arsenal.

I never said it was the wrong decision did I?

The fact you don't even know who you are quoting speaks volumes. If the players would look elsewhere purely because a coach leaves then we're better off without IMO. Mental....
We so the league that said it all we should have pushed on and competed around the top 6 positions! We finished well above manure and Arsenal last season was not a flash in the pan they are genuinely a talented job an for whatever reason it underperformed that responsibility lies with the manager.
If the players respect the coach and he has not done badly with a team whos confidence was as high as a snakes gonads then I say keep him !

Sorry poor grammar

I think I can get what you're saying here, even so I'm failing to see the point of it. The responsibility did lie with the manager...he was sacked. He was given more time than others may have given because he achieved a ridiculous amount last season and understandably had credit in the bank as a result. Like it or not our achievements last season haven't suddenly elevated us to being a big club, we're still relatively small compared to the big 5/6 or so. In the seconds after our league win our keeper was expected by many to join Everton. Not some massive club like L'Arse or Chelsea...Everton.

I agree with your comments, the point I was trying to make is that we had the opportunity to push into that status this season and we failed mostly because we did not recruit well enough. The squad seems settled with Shakey at the helm and he has not done too badly IMO if he is able to strengthen I see reason why we can not elevate Everton's position next season.

I understand peoples fear that he is inexperienced I still think he has done enough to land a crack at the job.

I didn't stay for the 'lap of appreciation' but I did notice that Schmeichel went straight down the tunnel at the end of the game.

Also, strange to me how Vardy didn't celebrate his goal at all.

Yes, Volpone, I noticed that.

And another thing, what was Simpson doing for their goal inside the first minute?

He had ample opportunity to put the ball out of play instead of letting it sail over his head and get muscled out of it.

He is my favourite player but had stinkers in the last 2 games.

Not surprised he had words with Slmani, because he was absolute gash. Truly awful

What a truly tragic waste of 30 million quid

Slimani, Hernandez, Mendy, Musa. Spunking money away on that pile of shit, instead of solid reinforcements, is where our season really went down the shitter

Hopefully not to be repeated

So that's a 1/10 for transfers is it?
