In the first half Gray had some very good moments but then spoiled it with a poor final ball, When he came off he looked quite disconsolate; not angry at being subbed but disappointed in his performance. Shinji was also below his usual standard.

Until the substitutions we looked poor and would have been in trouble against a better team than Sunderland. Albrighton was excellent and Slimani was more dangerous than Shinji.

Marcin Wasilewski was posing for photos. Rumour says that he does not reflect in mirrors and I would guess that the photographers are in for a surprise.

Not a great performance, but worth mentioning that this was Sunderlands last chance and they were really going for it. (in reality they are well down but hey ho)

I thought they closed us down very well and stopped us playing quote well but not giving our full backs any time or space.

Albrighton was fantastic when he came on.

Bit harsh really as I'm sure most would be saying it was a foul by Slimani if that was a goal scored against us.

Tis a good one though!

Thought Slimani was at his best in this game. He was even decent with his feet for a change!

A commentator on a stream I was watching certainly thought it was a foul. Watching the replay, I wasn't convinced. There was contact... but a push? Not so sure. Ref would have had to have been eagle eyed to have seen it I thought. The defender's reaction - stumbling away from Slimani - tells us nothing. To me, it looked as though he was simply the weaker of the two in an aerial challenge. Some get given, some don't.

During that first half, when they were having the better of the possession and chances, I thought we were always the more likely to score. They were pushing forward and leaving it lose at the back - we simply looked too tired to exploit it for large periods. When we did get forward, they looked iffy.

No foul for me.

I thought it was a foul at the time from my seat between L1 and the Sunderland fans. I was surprised that there was no real protest from their players or fans. Looking at replays later, I can't see the foul; Kone just falls away in the challenge.
