An uplifting performance. Gray was excellent, Ndidi might be the saving of us, Kapustka looks a talent and I reckon Benalouane has earned the right to replace Morgan.

Made hard work of a dire Derby side. Some promising points but Swansea will be far far tougher.

No-one should give Was or Benny a hard time they played really well.

Our back 4 looked much more solid and capable of clearing a ball then it has for weeks.

Gray was, as usual, fantastic. Our best player this season.

What an enjoyable game.

MOTM Gray. Great performance from him throughout tonight, capped with great solo goal.

Gray MUST start Sunday. Must reward performances like that with a start as a sign to others.

Gray and Chilwell have to start on Sunday.

I really hope Benny has also done enough. Maybe not the complete answer but looked so much more mobile than Wes and Huth.

Isn't it nice to pass the ball forward

Indeed. Gray must start. It would be insane for him not to.

So expect to see Musa on the wing.

More like it. Positive performance from our B team. If only the A team could show that effort and application. If decisions had gone our way could have been more.

Difficult selection questions to answer for Claudio on Sunday.

We were the better team in the first 90 minutes and should have done more to get the winner.

Worth the wait for two absolute beauties in extra time.

No one played spectacularly well but it was a good team effort. I really like Grey and Chilwell going forward down the left but a good opposition winger would still give them the runaround.

As has always been the case in my 25 years, Derby were ****ing shit.

Really good team performance with some really good individual contributions, in particular from the younger players, impressed thoughtwe looked together and up for it, even Mahrez looked to have his spark back. King was excellent real skippers performance.

Chilwell, Ndidi, Gray have to start and Kaputska has done enough to get on bench. Vardy stay at home and Drinkwater stop sulking, neither deserve to start on Sunday.

If Benny doesn't get in our team now then he might as well take a steaming shit in Claudio's car.

Absolutely right.

Good performance. I guess the real question, who has done enough to warrant contention for the Swansea game?

For me, Gray, Benalouane and maybe even King. I'd probably go:

Schmeichel

Simpson Amartey Benalouane Chilwell
Mahrez Ndidi King Gray

The forwards positions are difficult for us too. Do we start the underperforming Vardy again? Slimani? Wasn't great today but always a threat if we are going to be putting a lot of crosses into the box... Musa today was playing like Vardy has this season. Far too reactive and not proactive enough. Waiting for defenders to hopefully miss a header and lop onto the rebound/drop ball. You have to put more effort in than that.

Kapustka is worth a special mention. Gave a pretty impressive performance today. Looks like he could play the Okazaki role, he worked hard and looks to have a bit more of a threat level than Okazaki offers.

Do us the world of good, that

In terms of moving forwards:

After what I thought was a dodgy first half, Benny looked ok, albeit against an attack of utter dross. Done enough to start against the swans imo

Gray starts, obviously, as does Chilwell

Amartey is not a right back and cannot replace Simpson - would liked to have seen him at CB, but there you go

Kaputska looked like someone who should have been given a chance, at least, yonks ago. Might be worth a go

King and Ndidi looked an outstanding pairing together at the end - although it was in ET and again against complete dogshit

Musa not good enough to start, as yet, but looks much better when not stuck on the left wing. He's a striker, and that's that

Slimani looked shite

For me he read the game really well and I like his no nonsense approach. He wasn't perfect, I caught him well far back from the other defenders playing two Derby players onside once and also remember him being dispossessed dangerously high up the pitch, a bit like Huth was for the first goal against Manc Poo. Definitely worth consideration though. Amartey looked good today too and I don't think Simpson has done a lot wrong so for me, I'd keep Simpson RB and put Amartey at CB alongside Benalouane.

There shouldn't be that many. It's very clearly evident that King and Ndidi should play through the centre with Gray on one side. Question 1 would be who plays on the other? Chilwell should play at LB and Benalouane should play in CD with Amartey. Reinstate Simpson at RB. Question 2 should be 'who plays up top? It doesn't really matter who plays up top as none of them are prolific but perhaps Okazaki and one Slimani are the lesser of the multiple evils we have at our disposal right now.
