One thing I noticed about the line up today was how it has changed over the last year.

The first side of 2023 contained only one player that played today - Faes.

Ward, Castagne, Amartey, Faes, Thomas, Tielemans, Ndidi, Soumare, Perez, Vardy, Barnes
That can’t be right, we’re only cruising this league with a team who were clearly too good to go down and a squad full of PL players we held onto.

I thought exactly the same. He makes a nuisance of himself and he wants to be involved all the time. His finishing was instinctual and this bodes well. Time will tell, but his performance today as a whole (over the full game), was better than anything we have seen from Nacho or Daka.
For those who were there, does he look to have any of Vardy's pace?

WOTS is that Sheff Utd are quite keen on sending Thomas back to us. Wilder took one look and thought I don't need this.
According to a report from The Sun journalist Alan Nixon via his Patreon account, Premier League strugglers Sheffield United could be about to send Luke Thomas back to Leicester after an as of now unsuccessful stint at Bramall Lane.

I'm so happy for Cannon. I followed him at Preston and I've got a friend in the set up at Everton and he swears that Cannon is top drawer - has many similarities to Vardy. Not as pacey, but certainly not slow, he can get going when he's in a race. I've been banging on about him to my mates so purely for my own glory, I hope he does well!!

His Preston goals if that helps anyone. Clearly a top finisher, instinctual as others have said. Not afraid to rough it up a bit, either. At this level, I think he'll smash it. Not sure about Prem, though let's hope so.

So, is Luke Thomas the new Joe Mattock then? But without the snotty attitude.

As for Cannon, well pretty much every striker we've ever signed for big money has been utter dogshit. The successful ones have been picked up for **** all or next to **** all so here's hoping.

Worthington, Lineker, Smith & Vardy are the top class strikers we've had in my time as a fan. Only Frank cost anything like a decent price for the era & we even managed to pick him up for half what Liverpool bid for him thanks to that failed medical. The others cost either **** all or peanuts.

It's clearly how we roll. Long may it continue. No more Musas or Slimanis please (or Roger ****ing Davies for older viewers)

A journalist with a Patreon… WTF???

You mean there are actually sad people out there who pay this guy to hear rumours about Luke Thomas.

And was spoken about at length on Sky
There's a player in there. He's a more classic left-back and a real defender. Would do well at Championship level i think. Purely because of systems played, unless he ups his attacking game, he'll find it harder to get game time in the PL. Having said that, he has played 12 matches already at SUFC and all of his nearly 70 league appearances are all Premier League.

He had other options as well. Twat.
It’s that moment of hindsight you can only truly get after the event. It’s like the realisation we played Matt Heath and Nikos Dabizas once as our Central Defensive pairing of choice. Only now can you appreciate how desperate it was :bang:
