Just not good enough I'm afraid.

Man City were there for the taking. We are just not good enough.

The reality is, we need two full backs, a centre back and a striker.

Played some really nice stuff going forward. Thought Winks and El Khanouss were both excellent. Defensively it's the same old story. Honestly get sick of watching the incompetence. Vestergaard is a lumbering oaf, Kristiansen is utterly clumsy and weak. Coady has provided nothing if value and the regression of James Justin has been spectacular..

We need defensive additions if we're to have any hope.

we played some decent stuff today but we are technically not good enough. The only hope we have is if we can do some decent business in the Jan window.
Our defence slowed our attacking play down again today, and the defence will inevitably sink us as we are not good enough in this area.

We were not disgraced which is a positive.

Does anyone honestly see us winning another game?
I think we can and it will be tight all the way to the end. 19 games to go hopefully we can shade a few wins throughout our remaining fixtures.

let's face it apart from the Wolves game I don't think anyone expected us to gain many points throughout xmas.

The ever obliging Leicester City. Come and play us when you’re on a shocking run of form.

We had some decent attacking spells today but just not enough quality when it mattered.

Thought Soumare and El Khannouss were decent. Vestercunt can **** off though - total shite.

Only 2 1/2 more years on his contract :D

Well, I didn't think it was a bad performance at all. We played some lovely football at times. Some utterly shite goalkeeping and Coady stumbling around like an old drunkard playing everyone onside, cost us dearly however.

I don't know why some of the focus is on Vestergaard when Coady was by far and away the worst of the two CBs. Justin carried on from where he left off; he still looks a shadow of himself. I thought Kristiansen did okay to be fair.

Soumare, Winks and El Khannouss had good games and Buonanotte looked decent in patches.

The frustration for me isn't losing to Manchester City, it's not playing like we did today against Wolves or Newcastle. We just rolled over for them.

A RB and a CB are absolute priorities if we have any hope of mounting a challenge for survival. With Wolves looking like getting another point against Spurs, survival is looking increasingly more unlikely with every game however.

Well first match I’ve seen in person in a year.

First thought: what a wonderful talent El Khannouss is. I thought he was the best player on the pitch by a mile. Excellent bit of business and he won’t be here long. Not sure we’ve had a player on the books with his ability in a while.

I thought Soumare and Winks were good as well. And Bouna worked his knackers off.

We created a handful of excellent chances that on another day we score.

I also thought the two central defenders looked ok, and I disagree with the Vestergaard assessment.

Now the problem - we don’t have full backs. They are both very limited, im afraid. Good honest players but too easily beaten and too careless with the ball. Hamza isn’t a solution either. So we ploughing ahead and hope both improve or that Ricardo is fit soon. Both goals, in my opinion, came from Kristiansen being beaten one on one and the opposite full back not defending sharply enough.

I think if we can play like that going forward while sorting out our full backs we may have a punchers chance.

Yep, I dont want to get carried away but Bilal does look class and he has a work rate to match.

Really don't see what people see in Vestergaard and Kristansen even in just that one showing. Result was 2-0 but we got away with two instances of statueqsque defending defending from Vestergaard in the first half. They should have been 3-0 up despite us playing well on the whole. Kristiansen is piss poor at defending as well, weak on the ball, clumsy in posession and pretty bad positioning/ reading of the game as well. Who cares if he's 'OK going forward' if he's ****in hopeless at his main job?
