I don't usually feel sorry for footballers but I genuinely feel a bit sad for Inler.

He made a very bad decision in joining us in the summer and unfortunately it has robbed him of an entire season of football in what are his last remaining years as a pro.

I dont think he made a bad decision. Nobody knew what was going to happen and theres no doubt je wouls of been expecting to play more. Our midfielders just became undroppable and he didnt suit our new style. If anything his mistake was not leaving in jan.

Shame for Inler. Probably feels he made the wrong decision to join us now but at the end of the day if you're not better than those ahead of you for your club then how can you expect to get into your country's national team? He might feel he's not had a fair 'crack of the whip' though obviously it's been a strange old season to say the least. Last year we really needed that experience in midfield from when Cambiasso left but with new signing Kante hitting the ground running and Drinkwater really stepping up this year - combined with a shakey start from Inler has made it difficult for him to get anywhere near.

Be interesting to see what happens I guess but I expect he will want to leave..

I do feel sorry for Inler. We really pushed to sign him. He came in with a big fanfare and expectations that he'd replace Cambiasso.

His first few appearances were poor. Not because he's not good enough, but he just couldn't adjust quickly to how different the pace of the games are in England. He then loses his place to two players who are in the form of their lives.

In January, he's desperate to get a loan move away and we're going to okay it but James just isn't recovering as expected and finally totally breaks down in training. So the club cannot afford to let him go.

By now, in his fleeting appearances, it is clear that he has adjusted to the way we play and the pace but it's too late. He's not only behind Drinkwater and Kante but Ranieri prefers King to him as well. When Ranieri finally plays three in midfield on the final day, he's not only not one of those three, but he's not even on the bench.

None of it is his fault and I'd be shocked if he's still here in August.

No, you're not. You're saying he's done bugger all. That's not at all my impression of his work attitude at the training ground or his contribution to the group as a whole. He could have thrown his toys out of the pram but he's been very professional about it. Yes, he's made good money here, but so could he have done elsewhere, and in addition probably had a better chance of going to the Euros.

And Kante of course doesn't make the album following his late breakthrough to the French side.

Incidentally it must be the longest panini album in history, just under 700 stickers.
