Leicester City U18s 4 Spurs U18s 2
Posted on: Sat 10 Oct 2009
Leicester City U18s made it eight wins out of eight with an impressive victory over their Tottenham Hotspur counterparts, at Belvoir Drive.
Despite being 2-0 down at half-time, the league leaders showed great character to come back and overturn the Londoners.
Spurs struck through two set pieces in the first-half, but a second-half brace from Adi Yussef, and goals from Jorrin John and Nathan Hicks sealed City's 4-2 victory.
Academy Manager, Jon Rudkin, said: "There is certainly a lot we can take from this game, not only from the way we conceded, but also the way that the side responded in the second-half in terms of our offensive play and defending."
He added: "It was also great news for us all to hear of 17-year-old Elliott Chamberlain making his Welsh U21 debut, with a successful 2-0 win over Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Next up for City's U18s is a trip to Watford on Saturday 17th October, as the lads strive to continue their 100% record this season.
Team: Ambrusics, Moore, Taft, Milne, Parkes, Bolger, John, Norburn, Schlupp, Yussef, Hicks.
Subs: Tebbutt for Yussef (80), Byrne, Knight, Hoban, Gill.
