There were loads of faces I recognised in Main Stand. Pretty hostile.

Surprised some people could'nt help celebrating our goals... Bit stupid really (although was damn hard to blend in as a 'home' fan).

I thought the Northampton fans were very brave to chase out after the City fans out when they were already being restrained by the stewards.

Can't help feeling though that this was Northampton's fault. The other end was only about half full; there were City fans in every area of home fans. Northampton could easily have moved their fans round and accommodated another thousand or more City fans and at the same time ensured proper segregation. Remember that Northampton were still selling 'home-end' tickets to all-comers on Friday afternoon.

Surely there's some laws and regulations from stopping them doing this?

If demand met supply, there would've been more City fans than Northampton fans at the game yesterday.

There was certainly trouble in both the North and West stand that I could see - I guess it makes you thankful of being the lucky few who got a Leicester ticket.

As an away fan, it is contrary to the ground regulations to enter an area of the ground allocated to home fans. Not in itself illegal, but leaves people wide open for being accused of 'conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace' or worse.

Clubs are not usually too bothered about away fans who don't 'show out' - that is, fans who don;t make their status known.

Any club can agree with its safety authority to vary the proportion of their ground allocated to away fans on match-by-match basis. There would not be anything illegal about it.

In that case I'd label Northampton's allocation a complete joke.

They may have tried; perhaps hte safety authority said no.

They may have felt that it was not worth inconveniencing their own fans.

They may have decided that more City fans would have been too much of a disadvantage to their team.

They may have decided that they didn't want to pay the additional police and stewarding bill that an increase in the percentage of away fans would have required.

There is nothing that compels them to give us more than 10% of the avaialble tickets and they gave us considerably more than that

You might want to bear in mind that City have been asked to allocate more tickets to away fans on at least three occasions this season - and each time they have refused. These were not seats that were not needed by our fans. Northampton acted no differently from the way we did on those occasions.

Leeds fans will not be just in the allocated away section when we play them at the Walkers, they will be everywhere. So expect trouble at that game.
