Beat Sheffield by 5 on Saturday night

Today, however it was incredible, despite being down all night, including 3 points down with 50 secs to go, Huntley hit a 3 and was techinally fouled meaning 3 free throws. Riders are through to the BBL Trophy Final at Coventry Skydome against Newcastle Eagles, 5 Febraury, the place will be packed. Newcastle and Leicester possibly have two of the biggest following in British Basketball.

Super stuff, second in the table and final of the BBL Trophy.

Sunday February 5th at Coventry Sky Dome.

Big underdogs against Newcastle Eagles who seem to win everything.

Let's get as many people there as possible to cheer on the lads. If you've never been to a basketball match before it's well worth it. Exciting stuff.

Go Riders!

Newcastle were hammered last night at home by Scottish Rocks.

Tonight Riders Vs Chester Jets, Billy Singleton captain of the recent Riders' playoff winners is their player manager.

Should win on form.

Leicester lost 107-102 to Brighton this afternoon. :frown:

In a fifth period over overtime. So in all 9 periods of play. 5 lots of extra time.

Longest match in British Basketball ever.

Beat the Birmingham Bullers on Saturday Night however. Now, third in league.

Riders lost 63-70 to London Towers.

Fell out of form, they must have the Trophy Final in their minds. I predict Riders will finish fifth or sixth in the end, enough for the play-offs. In March, Commonwealth Games mean Riders miss three players. London Towers, Sheffield Sharks, Newcastle Eagles, Scottish Rocks and possinly Brighton Bears will finish above Riders.

Wow - long game. I assume just 5 minutes per period for overtime? I've been to three Rider games this year, but as of now I can't afford 9 pounds a ticket. :frown: I'm going to try to make it to one more game before the end of the season.

Maybe but still longest game. Add the clock stoppages, longest time for an audience to watch a Basketball game.

I was just wondering if it was 5-minutes as that is standard for basketball in the NBA, NCAA etc....

The Riders BBL Cup final is on BBC Leicester Sunday starting at 4:20pm - the game probably starts at 4:30pm. :038: :038: :038:

Riders led 30-28 at half-time at the Trophy Final today.

However the score I dreaded and predicted did happen
newcastle 71 leicester 50

Newcastle have shit hot of late and Riders have been poor. First quarter must have been extremely defensive but Newcastle quick gameplay came into play.
