A friendly it may have been but I noticed exactly the same problems, patterns of play and passing combinations that made much of last season so shit.

Get the impression that some aren't even going to wait for the season to start before they start building the gallows.

They should already be built after last season. Hopefully Puel proves me (and others) wrong and he isn't made to climb them.

I don’t like Puel, I don’t like his football, I don’t like the direction the club is heading in and I didn’t renew my season ticket for this season.

Still a Leicester fan, never want to see us fail and I still make the effort to watch us play an appallingly shit friendly at 5pm on a weekday. I just know a car crash when I see one and I haven’t been supporting the club for nearly as long as most on here.

When's the next friendly?

How did Maddison look?

Think it's hard to judge much based on these lineups when none of our World Cup players are available, essentially leaving us with no strikers. Slimani and Ulloa clearly aren't in Puel's plans it seems.

I don’t like what we see at the min, or what we saw for vast periods of last season.

But - Schmeichel, Maguire, Ndidi, Vardy. That’s the spine of our team and it isn’t there at the min.

I’m not suggesting that things are rosy, but I’d hope things will look better when they return, at least.

He looked fine, Mendy looked competent too.

Indeed. Any criticism of Puel is based on previous performances.

I genuinely don’t know how you did it. I struggle to motivate myself to get out of the pub on a Saturday afternoon to go and watch a PL game live, never mind a meaningless friendly on a stream. Dull dull dull.

It does smell a little of the 00/01 season...terrible, relegation form for the last 4 months of the season before a great result in the penultimate game, and then finish with a defeat.

0-5 against Yanited it is then.

I definitely feel similar at the min. Hopefully it doesn’t go the same way.

Very worried about our preparations at the moment.

We literally have **** all up top other than Vardy.

If the football is the same as last season then I'll cry.

We've also got Iheanacho and Okazaki (and potentially Musa), who all represented their countries at the World Cup

Essentially all we've seen so far is the fringe players, the young and the new. Some have stood out as having a chance in the squad this year. Mendy has looked surprisingly decent, Maddison looks talented and I think Choudhury merits being involved in the matchday squad more as well. Expecting we'll start getting the internationals back and up to speed and involved against Udinese on Saturday. I'm optimistic now we've strengthened the defence a bit but I still think we're a few players light - disappointing to miss out on Jahanbakash and Elyounoussi as potential Mahrez replacements.
