We started with an interesting formation variation. Out of possession, Albrighton kept tucking in to make a three in midfield until the first goal came. Then they reverted back to 4-4-2.

After praising Simpson against PSG (the only player worthy of merit) tonight he's been total dogshite. King is his usual absent self meaning Drinkwater is practically alone in midfield. Mahrez looks uninterested.

Aside from that, it's actually been quite a good game. I'm not bothered about the scoreline one bit. It's entertaining viewing.

Useful as a champs league last 8 benchmarking and fitness exercise (we are well short on both!) but we are not exactly getting to 'pre season' any tactics in these games are we? Weve had the ball for 5 minutes combined in both games.
Its all well and good but will leave us undercooked for the start of the prem and without a view on what our best team is.

On the positive side Chilwell looks good going forward. Drinkwater's passing range is there and zieler looks a half decent back up.

As for the rest of the defence, andy king , vardy and mahrez.....they are still on the celebration bus i think....

I am worried that we're not up to match sharpness yet though.

Community Shield doesn't count as pre-season to me. We should be ready to battle to win that game. And I'm worried we're not because we've been fannying about in USA
