There won't be any set back here. Crystal Palace are an abomination of a side. Considering they've been in the PL for 8 years now, they've done absolutely nothing. A 'past it' manager, a bunch of overpaid and over the hill mediocre players just going through the motions. All that in a shit hole of a stadium in a shit hole part of London.

They've had one good performance all season - back in September beating Man Utd at Old Trafford. Apart from that, they bombed out of both cup competitions at the first opportunity and have lived off dogged wins against the shitest sides in the league for their customary 'just enough' points.

Not only that but they play the most tedious football. Awful characters such as Zaha and Benteke are their 'stars'. Imagine how miserable Lako would be if he supported Palace!

The only good thing about Palace is that they got Puel the sack. To Puel, counteracting Palace was akin to scaling Everest. Since we have had a decent manager in place, we've done fine against them.

3-0.

Nah, no slip up here.

Win this and we're looking comfortable.

Waiting for Leeds to beat Man Utd today and then we can push on and finish 2nd

i hadnt thought about 2nd but if we deliver the next 3 results it could be on. big IF though. No one is beating Newcastle easily at the moment.

What are your thoughts on Crystal Palace and the area around the ground as its not quite clear from your post what you think

Literally everyone in their squad seems to be having a fitness test for this game. i think we have to press on early like we did in the west brom game. get into them early and demoralise them...

We play twice now before any of the other sides at the top end play again. 'If' we win these two matches, this is the PL table on Friday night:

We'd be 3rd - 2 points behind Man Utd
We'd be 7 points clear of Chelsea in 4th
We'd be 10 points clear of 5th

Job done. This is the key week for us. Get the job done and we can really enjoy May.

Head-to-head

  • Crystal Palace are winless in three Premier League meetings since a 4-1 away victory in February 2019.
Leicester City

  • Leicester's win on Thursday ensured they avoided three consecutive top-flight defeats for the first time since February 2019.
  • Prior to the latest round of fixtures, only the bottom three teams in the division had suffered more home defeats this season than the seven for Leicester.
  • They are three points shy of matching last season's final total of 59.
  • Kelechi Iheanacho has scored 13 goals in his last 13 appearances.
  • Brendan Rodgers is unbeaten in all five Premier League matches as a manager versus Roy Hodgson (W4, D1).
Crystal Palace

  • Palace have only won two of their past nine Premier League fixtures.
  • Their only clean sheet in 19 top-flight games came in a 0-0 draw at Arsenal in January.
  • They failed to score more than once in any of their last six league matches.
  • Wilfried Zaha has scored five Premier League goals against Leicester, more than versus any other side.

Bloody lovely. Bring it on.

I've been really enjoying the movie-based match posters this season - and I think this is one of the best so far.
I haven't really thought any of them were great but the last two - Snatch and Eddie the Eagle - have both been brill.

Referee: Graham Scott.
Assistants: Simon Long, Eddie Smart.
Fourth official: Jonathan Moss.
VAR: Stuart Attwell.
Assistant VAR: Scott Ledger.

We're unchanged tonight.

Rightly so.

Hopefully similar performance and result too.

Would like to see more from Maddison tonight. As well as we played in the first half the other day, I don't think he was at his best (although much better than Perez) and this system really gives him a chance to shine.
