Was just going to post the same. Benitez has got his team to stifle us. Carragher has it right in that we’ve been too focused on getting through the middle and not stretched them wide
When we gone wide there has been nothing going into the box, when we have tried to put in a delivery its been poor

It not help that half the team are still thinking it's a Friday night down the pub.

N'didi was brilliant recently, tonight hes like he was too often under Puel.
Passing around but no critical pass, an quite a few sloppy ones.
Newcastle are up for this and Brendon has to kick a few arses and get them in gear else we will lose this.
Albrighton to come on early doors second half I reckon.

They’re doing a job on us. I can’t believe they’re where they are in the table.

We’ll still win this.

Reckon we'll struggle to get this back. It'll be a good test to see how we've progressed under Rodgers, see if we've learnt how to break teams down. We've got the players to do it, so fingers crossed they can make it happen.

Newcastle far more threatening than us second half.

We haven't really got going again. Newcastle are playing well but we're panicking too much at the back which is making our life much more difficult

They've been closing us down well. Particularly Ndidi, they seem to have targeted him when he has possession and he's lost it a few times in dangerous areas.
Ive noticed the same with Morgan. I think they've identified our weakest passers and making sure to close them down quickly.

Ricardo has been poor at the back tonight.

Gray and Barnes really not been in the game. Maddison has had a brilliant ten minutes.

I'd sub Gray off for Albrighton, assuming he's up to 20 mins in this kinda game. More width to spread the play.

Sometimes you do just have to give a team credit and the newcastle organisation has been fantastic. Classic Rafa. Which is why we’d not exactly have been entertained if he had become our manager.

Good choice to swap Mendy for Gray. Not sure I would've gone for Nacho yet. But let's see how he responds.

I assume Albrighton isn't ready.

we have not brave enough in the ball Newcastle have been good value for their lead
Don't agree. We've tried stuff but Newcastle have been very effective blocking routes off.

Agree with Carra that we need to get wider, but I don't think we've not been brave, we're trying stuff but just can't find a way through.
