Even though there should be more than enough quality to win the game in that selection, the thought of Gray and Chilwell playing on the same pitch is frightening. Starting the game with 9 men is never a good idea and if Silva plays like he did last time out it'll be a team of 8.

Like I say though, on paper at least that lineup should be too strong for The Blades. For the sake of my nerves and my eyes however, I'd swap out Gray for Albrighton, Silva for James, Iborra for Ndidi and Chilwell for Fuchs.

Yet you don't question the inclusion of Morgan?

When the teamsheet came out for the Peterborough game, many City "fans", including a fair few on here, questioned how serious we were with the FA cup.
Yet, that was the first time I can remember taking a lower league team to pieces in the FA cup so quickly.

Tonight, Claude's selection will come out fighting once again, and we will be the first name in the 1/4 finals

PS I hope :)

Oh, I'm so sorry, we've haven't had a dip in form of late.

Some people leap to assumptions about what's being said and are all too keen to start slagging others off for a difference of opinion. Imo, we have not been playing as well recently (say, the last 3 games) as we were prior to that - and I'm not simply saying that because of the results. I think we've gotten the results we've deserved. I thought we were very poor indeed 2nd half against Man City. I haven't concluded anything on that basis of that. We could rediscover form tonight, and I obviously seriously hope we do.
Let's look at the evidence:-
Prior to the Everton game our star player throws his toys out of the pram.
Has a knock on effect for next 3 games.
Everton game before they scored; we could, and probably should have been 1 or 2 goals to the good.
After the penalty, we created chances to eek out a draw (deservedly or not)
Against Swasea, we should have been out of sight before they had a sniff at goal.
Against Man City........... it was important to keep the cleansheet for a bit longer than 2 minutes. (You can't train out total ineptitude from players.) 1 of those days!
In the 2nd half.... I'll give you that, however, I'm sure defence was worried whether Kasper was going to stop the ball or let another soft goal in. This leads to confusion and **** ups.
So I'd say it's not quite as doom and gloom as the picture you paint.

That's the assumption you're making. I'm not painting a picture of doom and gloom, I'm only saying we've not been at our best of late. The odd thing is that in all that you say, it seems to me that you're actually saying the same thing. You just give reasons for it. I'm not making predictions, I'm just registering concern (call it pre-match nerves if you will) and, in a sense, stating the obvious. I'm not taking the tonight's result as a given.

There lies in the problem with the written word, against the spoken word. ;)

Tonight is certainly not a given, (I've seen enough upsets in my lifetime) .
Let's just fecking do em
Off now for a shite, shower and shave then down town for food and drink before the game.

No. He's a very good defender and before his injury, arguably one of our most consistent performers, let's not forget that before we throw him on the scrap heap. I'm not saying he should take the place of Dragovic completely but that he is perfectly adept at what he does.

Morgan has always been the consumate professional, so I am sure he would not make himself available unless he believed he was fully match ready. Along with Huth he is excellent at reading the game and being positionally in the right places at the right time. If Dragovic can learn all the skills that Morgan possesses, he will become an excellent replacement for him eventually.

if Morgan was so skilled at being in the right place at the right time why would he need to throw himself into blocks like he does?

To paraphrase Paolo Maldini answer about tackling, if you are having to do that you have already made a mistake

Were you saying that when his brilliant blocks and interceptions helped to win us the Premier League?

Maybe his last ditch blocks are making up for someone else's error?

Yes IO was and maybe they were but more than a few came from poor defensive headed clearances by Wes Morgan, my post was more to point out that Wes' skill set isn't that superior to Dragovic that Dragovic needs to "learn from Wes" to replace him, he already has, we haven't missed Wes a bit since his injury.

Our biggest defensive problem is the inability to defend set pieces,m which has been there long before Wes pulled his hamstring.

Winning the league didn't turn Wes into a top prem CB, he's never been that so lets not pretend he was

How quickly it all fades away, almost as if it didn't really happen

Desperately sad, isn't it ?
or its not mistaking the season of his life with his actual ability level, we had lightning in a bottle that season, almost everything we did went right.

Wes Morgan is an average Premier League CB, that's nothing to be embarrassed about, its also not something that's all that hard to replace, especially given his age and recent injury record.

I remember that season every bit as fondly as everyone else does but I do not still see the players as the players of that season, I judge them on how they perform now, sad as you may feel about it but Wes and Huth were both pretty poor last season and we haven't really missed either of them with Maguire and Dragovic playing, aside from the odd poor game here or there as happens with every player.

Moving on doesn't mean forgetting the past it's just accepting it is the past and Robert Huth and Wes Morgan, given their ages and injury problems are Leicester City's past

So who were the top CBs in our Champions year that were conceding far fewer goals than us?

Arsenal conceded the same, Tottenham & Manchester United both conceded less. Are you seriously say Wes Morgan is one of the best CB's in the league? Because even that season he wasn't he was part of an outstanding team lets stop overrating players from that team, that's part of the reason new players keep failing, fans jump on them instantly because they weren't in that team and that is ****ing stupid

There is enough shit in this post to grow a field of mushrooms.

Nobody is 'overrating' anyone they are just pointing out that a single player is not ready for the scrap heap that some wish to resign him to. Morgan was excellent before his injury this season and he was excellent in our Championship season. Is he one of the very top defenders in the league? No, but then nobody said he was. Was he one of the best in 15/16? You bet your bollocks he was, however much you seem to have forgotten. Can he still do a good job for us? He has already shown this season that he can.

As for that nonsense about new players, Mendy, Slimani, Musa, Hernandez, Zieler etc.... haven't in any way failed because they have somehow been side-lined through favouritism or hyperbolic sentiment to the League winning side. They have failed because they have been largely horse shit at every given opportunity on the pitch. If this were the case, Ulloa and King would still be making arse grooves in our bench.
