They have made a solid start to the season and therefore it wont be an easy game. However if we can keep the momentum of last nights performance going then its a game we can win. Although Armartey played well id like Mendy to get some playing time if available. IMO Kaspers presence last night settled the defence and we looked solid. Hernandez may have played himself into a regular starter, which adds to our attacking threat with those throws. We must get more crosses into the box because Slimani will be waiting. A 2-0 win is my prediction Slimani 2

Amartey did well last night but he has been complete tripe on a few occasions, so a difficult call for Ranieri to make. My guess is Amartey will start even if Mendy is fit - probably not sensible to chuck Mendy in at the deep end as soon as he's back. Hernandez put in a great shout for the RB slot last night too. An assured defensive performance from him and the added threat of another player who has a good long throw.

He's 21, I'm sure he'll become more consistent as he gets older.

Yay you've found your full stop key!

Some seem to be thinking that this game has been put back a day for TV. This is NOT the case; Southampton are playing in the Europa League on Thursday night, meaning that they can not play on Saturday. The match is NOT being televised.

Nice trip to Israel for the Saints before coming to us on the Sunday.

Nice

I think this game is a good test for us. Southampton are a strong team who have had a solid start to the season - although actually only sit one point ahead of us! Southampton and Everton are the kind of teams we should realistically hope to be competing with for positions in the top half this season, so it's a good challenge.

We've not really played a team you'd expect to finish around mid-table yet this season. Burnley, Hull and Swansea are all teams likely to be fighting to survive come the end of the season, while Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd will all be in or around the top 4. As most of us have said we're expecting to finish somewhere in the middle this season, this is a good barometer of that.

I expect it will be the same team as played against Porto.

I am expecting us to finish in the Top 6.

We still have a very strong team who want to win.

38 games - Top 6 teams Away, 0 points, 3 Wins and 3 Draws at Home makes 12 points

13 teams left, Win at Home, Draw Away, average 4 points per team makes 52 points.

Total is 64 points which would have got us 6th place last season.

From the Southampton fans I know have been disappointed so far.
The new manager is trying to implement a diamond system and the first 3-4 games were muddled though. By all accounts they are getting better but flattering to deceive too.
Some good players, but a very beatable team.

Mind you use put a bet on Fonte any time goalscorer as I think there height could cause us issues.

Disgrace. Do they know who we are?

Coming back for the weekend and looking for a ticket. Phoned the ofiice and they admit there are tickets left but only for Gold, Silver etc members. Only get home once every couple of years and would love to go. Anyone, please?

A win here would be fantastic.

The Amarty praise was justified against Porto. His defending however against Utd particularly the Rashford goal was terrible. Age was no excuse for that just lack of concentration.

My head says 2-2.
