The season is over but, again, a lot of our fans must have very short memories...
The season being "over" when we're sat in 8th in the Prem when there's still 10 teams who could get relegated isn't something we would be complaining about before.
If we can hold onto 8th it's been a good season. Yes we should've pushed Burnley harder and put up more of a fight for 7th place. But that doesn't make 8th bad.
Having said that, we need to finish the season with a bit of form. Because however absurd it may seem, the negativity and unrest amongst our fans is growing. So we need the season with some good form - and good performances - to turn that around. Otherwise I can see this being like so many other seasons from the last 10-15 years where a manager is giving the summer to see what they can do with a proper pre-season and a chance to recruit their own players, and then as soon as a few results go against them they're hounded by October and we repeat the whole thing again. I don't want that to become our annual cycle again.
